The Faust is a quaint hotel, dating back to 1929. It's like you stepped back in time, with the architecure and decor. The lobby area harkens back to the 1920s & 30s. Parking is in the back down a rather narrow access, but you can also access the lot from S Castell Ave. Check-in process includes instruction about your single key, so we recommend you leave it with the front desk when going out.Our room was rather small, but the bed was comfortable. The small but adequate bathroom required a step up. We stayed one night in October, and we slept well. The location is great. We walked to Krause's for an event. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant and bar were closed, but they had tables in the outdoor frontyard with live music. The place was hopping.I would make inquiries if you need bigger accommodations, but I can see a nice, romantic night as The Faust.

A great location...just across the street from Krause's Cafe. Easy walk to downtown and Landa Park. Lovely remodeled front patio...just hope they leave the old character in the rooms.Rooms: Still look very much like the railroad hotel it once was...love the antiques as well.Walkability: Walkable to Landa Park and across the street from Krause's Cafe in the back and Naegelin's bakery in the front exit.

We have had a great trip planned to New Braunfels for months for the Christmas atmosphere in New Braunfels and Gruene. I just received an email telling me they are closing for renovations and my reservation is cancelled. Two and a half weeks before we arrive. No phone call, just a "sorry for the inconvenience" email. Who closes at Christmas for renovations? I am thinking money issues. Thanks Faust for ruing our trip.

Just sad. Booked a room for my wife and I months ago for a long weekend for all the Christmas fun in New Braunfels and Gruene. Received an email today, 2 and a half weeks before we arrive advising us all reservations are cancelled due to renovations. AT CHRISTMAS !! A phone call would have been nice. Doesnt sound like these owners have a clue at what they are doing. Poor planning and worse customer service. Merry Christmas Faust !

If I could give 10 stars for service I would. The customer service I received during my stay was incredible, and something you would never expect to see at any chain hotel. The staff could not do enough for me and I'm incredibly grateful to them. The room was also really clean and nice, for a reasonable price, and near plenty of things to do. Parking was also not an issue, there is a massive free public car park 1 minute walk away if their back yard is full.

We didn't stay at the hotel but we did stop in for live music and that was great! Good bar service. The drinks are okay but I feel like they're a little overpriced for what you get.

Loved the rooms. The bed was the highlight of stay after a long trip. The staff was very friendly and quick to be helpful. There are several restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Morning coffee is also a short walk.

The perfect place for a mini staycay. The front desk ladies were so friendly and helpful. The rooms are small, but a queen was certainly enough for a solo traveler. Easy walking distance to downtown.

If you love old architecture/decor, you will enjoy this place. Unless you're into the tiny-house movement, make sure you request a larger sized room. I was by myself, so I got a single sized room. It is about the size of a child's bedroom. The bathroom is a full bath crammed into a half bath. I am a little over 5'9 (a somewhat average size person), and kept bumping my elbow into the wall in the shower. I didn't mind it though. Just know if you are staying with someone, make sure you really really like them if you get a small room. You will also be able to hear your neighbors somewhat easily. The front desk people were nice, and the complimentary soaps were nice.ALSO, you are short walking distance to a lot of retail and food. I had a short walk to the Brauntex theatre which was also a nice experience. It's pretty awesome to go see a show and not mess with parking or driving! The Mexican restaurant next to it was really good(next to the attorneys that neighbor the hotel). The parking in the back is very exposed, so don't expect any shade if you are one who always looks for shaded parking. If you don't stay here, you should at least go inside and appreciate the awesomeness.

The rooms are way too small to be comfortable for two people. However, if you like antiques and you appreciate quality fixtures, doors, table, chairs, etc. you will love the place as a whole. Right down to the ice machines....everything was well maintained and clean. The bed was well appointed and comfortable so when we got acclimated to the closed in space and the claustrophobic panic, it was quite nice.

Classic stay in the heart of NB. The location is great. Right across the street are some great walkable options. We had a nice time at the Oyster Bar for after dinner drinks. Then breakfast at Le Citron was amazing. The hotel itself is older so there are some elements that reflect that ie: very thin walls ?. It's a great quaint stay with a lot of history so that's pretty cool. Parking was easy, check in was good... some other rowdy guests, but the coffee in the morning was pretty good.
