Food was really good. Bathroom was trashed, and then I saw the kitchen. Surprised the food was as good as it was after I saw the Kitchen. Service was sparse, tables weren't cleared.

Great! Set among old buildings, it has covered and outdoor seating, with a kids playground. The Bacon cheeseburger and tots delish, with one of the best Strawberry Margaritas I've ever tasted. Will be back for sure!

OMG 😱, first time eating here, I was so blown away by the amount of food. That food was meant for giants. When I tell you my stomach was satisfied by only eating the fried mushrooms which were only appetizers not the main course you wouldn't believe it. I've never had fried mushrooms and that was my first experience. Oh my goodness those fried mushrooms were WOW fiiiiiiirrrreee. I was just amazed. I could go on and on overall food is DELICIOUS 😋

So many fruit flies! The restaurant is not clean if they are this bad. I'm a Director of Operations for a restaurant group. I know the challenges, but it was unbearable how many I saw. Server was completely checked out. Looked at me like I was an A-hole every time I ordered or asked for anything. Amazing food, but that is not enough these days. You have to nail service and ambiance also. Clean it up guys!

We were in New Braunfels to meet some friends and stopped by Freiheit for some beverages, and entertainment.
We were checked on by a server a few times, but opted to go inside and review the beer selections and order. Note, bathrooms are also in this building.
We selected a table between the main building and the food truck to enjoy the breeze, as it was a bit toasty in Texas today (5/24/25) with temps hitting 99-100 degrees.
We did not sample, and food and thus I cannot comment on this, and defaulted to giving 3 stars, or neutral.
As I noted, we were frequently checked on, so I felt service was good.
There was a live band, that played most country and western, and Latin cumbia songs. They did a good job of trying to engage the audience.
Overall, enjoyed ourselves. I hope that if you decide to visit this restaurant, that your experience is as good or better than mine.

Sorry service no one attended to us with only two tables that had customers . We waited for a while several employees past our table not acknowledging us !! I DO NOT HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!! It’s so sad when you try to help our local business and not receive service! Could it be since we are HISPANIC and we were sat in the back where there was no one and forgotten.
Waitress behind the bar wasn’t helpful at all. Ask for a menu. She told me she was out that I would have to walk outside and get one. When asked what appetizers they had she didn’t answer me, someone else did. There’s so many other places to go with better customer service.

This is an amazing hidden gem. The place has absolutely great food and the customer service is unlike any other. The place is really clean and everyone was so nice. I definitely recommend to anyone looking to get a great meal.
