I have been here multiple times but Lupes has gotten progressively worse. I understand restaurants get busy but this experience was insane. It was 2 adults and a child. We waited 30 minutes to get in. Then, after sitting down, It took our server close to 12 minutes before getting to our table to introduce herself and initiate our order. She eventually brought our drink order and even and chips and salsa after at least 5 minutes. At least 40 minutes after taking our order they bring out our daughter’s kid plate incorrectly made then indicated it was for another table . All we ordered were nachos compuestis and kid enchiladas. The nachos came out and appeared over heated. I spoke with a manager with dark hair about my experience and he did not seem apologetic just made excuses and was not sympathetic. The restaurant was busy but not at the point that I feel justified this slow service. They need to manage the workflow better. I will not be returning.

we got there for breakfast/brunch and the hostess informed us we would have to wait because NO servers were available. The manager was walking around on the phone upset. maybe i am old school but customers should never know anything is wrong. the hostess should have sat the 2 tables and the manager could have gotten drink orders shame on the lil hostess for airing the dirty laundry

FYI the waiter got double tip because he did great after he arrived

Terribly disappointing. Our family of 5 had dinner tonight, Monday the 15th, at Lupe Tortilla in NB to celebrate my daughter’s clear cancer scans! It was a terrible let down, waste of our time and money. We arrived shortly after 6pm to a restaurant that was less than half full. Our server made infrequent visits to our table so after waiting 45 minutes for our food I went looking for her. Shortly after the manager came by to say our order had been lost in the kitchen but they were now preparing it. We had ordered fajitas, beef (no red meat) and chicken and other entrees. Twenty more minutes passed and the food finally arrived; beef was red, the chicken was burnt. The server continued to disappear for long stretches. What should have been an hour long dinner took two hours. We were over-hungry and stressed because this is finals week and we needlessly lost a lot of study time. Additional disappointment when the manager decided deducting queso somehow made up for a complete and utter failure of the dinner meant to be a celebration. Hopefully this saves other people some grief, time and money.

I ordered the steak and enchiladas dinner, i asked for it to be cooked medium rare and the steak was purple raw on the inside. I showed their manager Adam, they took it back to the kitchen, burnt it then brought it back out to me.

Way over priced. Way too loud. Waiter staff was outstanding and when that is the best thing for a chain restaurant then you got major issues. People overheard us in parking lot and said same thing.

I used to love Lupe, especially when it first opened, but my last visit, earlier this week, will likely be my last, period. I've only been able to make it in a handful of times over the last year, but the consistency has been way off. I can only assume it's under completely different management because the whole vibe felt different. The food was usually still pretty good, albeit not as good as I remembered it being early on, but the one thing I figured I could always count on was the great service. I even made it a point to remember a couple of the especially friendly staff, Miguel and Darby. If I lucked into sitting at either one of their tables, I could always count on a fun experience. But I haven't seen Miguel in months and on my most recent visit, this week, when I asked if Darby was working, I was told she was gone, too. What a bummer! My food was fine. Honestly, I've had worse Tex Mex. But I've also had better, and for a lot more reasonable bill at the end, too. So it's time for me move on, too. Maybe I'll give Lupe another try somewhere down the line — hoping management can get a better handle on the level of quality and customer care that won me over in the first place three years ago. But honestly, that's a pretty tall order and I'll be surprised if they've still got it in them. Thanks for the memories!

I never try anything new no matter where we go. Have my safe choices but Lupe Tortilla has made me a new woman. Tex-Mex Gumbo...OMG! Fish Tacos AMAZING! Still love my go to choices but everything I have tried has become a new favorite! Go early or make reservations cause they are the popular choice but so worth the wait!
