Ice cream is grainy and flavorless. I’ve been here twice now and each time it’s been a disappointment.

Hello,
Terrible service from the girls here on January 4 around 2:50 PM. You don’t provide samples which is ridiculous and then when a six-year-old child doesn’t like the ice cream you get rude saying no you cannot give it back it’ll be another five dollars. This is what makes it difficult To support Local when you have people that don’t appreciate the ones that deserve good service. It’s very easy to give samples you can limit it to one. Really bad business practice. Savannah you should be ashamed of this rudeness your employees provided. They would not give me your number, they said they didn’t have a business card, and they would not give out any information or take my information.

What a treat! House made vegan ice cream. 2 flavors. We chose the mint chocolate chip and loved it. Great mint flavor, not overly sweet, and not too heavy. A perfect dessert. Order at the window. No indoor seating at this location. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-07
Ladies in there were extremely friendly. I had a root beer float and the wife had the salted caramel ice cream. Both were very good. There is no place to sit here so be prepared to take it elsewhere. They also do not accept cash. They also will run out of things on you pretty quickly.

I wish I would’ve caught her name, but the worker there was so amazing and patient with my kids. Thank you so much!! The ice cream is delicious. They also have sodas in glass bottles.

Very slow service especially if you’re standing in line under the sun. Bit pricey for a small place out in the country. Good flavors

Amazing ice cream. While in the area my family went back two days in a row. I personally like the Salted Carmel which was a nice soft and creamy ice cream at a great price. Perfect area with the shops and activities around.

The cashier was very nice! She let us try some samples to see which one we liked! The ice cream was also great!

The server with the nose ring was very rude and portion size was very small for what they are charging & how much we paid. We come all the time and never has our family had such a bad experience like this.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Scoop of Delight Next to the Antique Police
If you’re in the mood for some adventurous ice cream that hits the spot without hitting your wallet, look no further! This place serves up wild flavors on a homemade cone that’s so good, it might just be the most valuable antique on the block. The ice cream is worth every penny, and the variety is like a party for your taste buds—one bite and you’ll be questioning all your life decisions that didn’t involve ice cream.
However, brace yourself for some drama from next door. The antique shop beside this slice of heaven clearly has beef with anyone enjoying life, especially if that enjoyment involves a cone. Their “No Ice Cream” signs are plastered everywhere—inside, outside, and probably on their dusty old chandeliers too. I guess the spirits haunting the antiques don’t approve of joy. Maybe it’s the ghost of someone who never got to try a decent scoop? Who knows! But hey, more reason to enjoy your ice cream even more… because nothing tastes sweeter than mildly infuriating the antique police!

We were in line to get ice cream and after waiting for a while they announced that they were not serving any more because they were closed.... We were excited to try it ....

I don’t quite remember the flavors we got, I think my husband got Coffee Oreo and I got Strawberry Nutella… nonetheless they were delicious!
The girls working there were friendly, and we had an incident right after we got our ice cream, my husband was about to taste his and the whole scoop of ice cream fell. When we walked back to order him a new cone, the girl was kind enough to just replace it.
We love Gruene in general, but this little ice cream stand fits just perfect in this little town!

The place is essentially a service window with a parking lot. It’s nothing to write home about but it satisfied the urge for dessert after visiting the Gristmill. Though if you’re counting calories, I’d recommend spending them somewhere else.
