Rhea's Ice Cream - Gruene

Pretty watery ice cream , I personally don't think it's worth it. $18 for two single scoop cones

Very unpleasant server behind the counter, young blond. Way overpriced cone @ $7.00+. Myself and another patron both received, as the other stated, one melon ball sized dollup. No thank you, have a great day... Nothing. I'll not recommend, nor return.

I’ve never wrote a bad review in my life but was so excited to try this place and was very disappointed. Walked up and asked for a sample of s’mores. Then ordered seven scoops of ice cream and asked for one more sample of another flavor and was denied. (Was ordering for my family so it was very quick and efficient) I understand it’s one/ person but when I already ordered seven cups it should be able to slide. (Could’ve been eight cups purchased)
Taste wise was not good. All the ice cream had an icy texture and had little flavor (watered down). Blonde girl who served was rude. We still tipped $9 on a $31 order. Would never go back or recommend, I recommend going to the general store for bluebell, they’re a lot nicer and solid ice cream!

Rhea’s is the best in new braunfels. They have such interesting & delicious flavors the ice cream is amazing. I have never seen such unique flavors. I went on on a weekend afternoon so it was quite busy but worth the wait. They also let you try samples and all the staff I’ve encountered have been incredibly friendly. Local, fresh, and delicious. They have vegan options that are coconut based. If you want to try a type of ice cream you have never heard of, or even the originals, this is the place to go.

the blonde girl working on friday night was so rude to my elderly dad just because he was looking at what flavor he wanted (there was no line and they didn’t close for an hour). i had to walk out of the place because of how rude she was. i understand how hard working customer service is, but she was rude from the jump. thankfully my dads a kind person and still met her with kindness and a tip.

Offering avocado ice cream to a Vegan is really funny to me. And the only other option being mint chocolate is pretty lame. Boooooo!

Ice cream is grainy and flavorless. I’ve been here twice now and each time it’s been a disappointment.

Terrible service from the girls here on January 4 around 2:50 PM. You don’t provide samples which is ridiculous and then when a six-year-old child doesn’t like the ice cream you get rude saying no you cannot give it back it’ll be another five dollars. This is what makes it difficult To support Local when you have people that don’t appreciate the ones that deserve good service. It’s very easy to give samples you can limit it to one. Really bad business practice. Savannah you should be ashamed of this rudeness your employees provided. They would not give me your number, they said they didn’t have a business card, and they would not give out any information or take my information.

What a treat! House made vegan ice cream. 2 flavors. We chose the mint chocolate chip and loved it. Great mint flavor, not overly sweet, and not too heavy. A perfect dessert. Order at the window. No indoor seating at this location. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-07

Ladies in there were extremely friendly. I had a root beer float and the wife had the salted caramel ice cream. Both were very good. There is no place to sit here so be prepared to take it elsewhere. They also do not accept cash. They also will run out of things on you pretty quickly.

Very slow service especially if you’re standing in line under the sun. Bit pricey for a small place out in the country. Good flavors

Amazing ice cream. While in the area my family went back two days in a row. I personally like the Salted Carmel which was a nice soft and creamy ice cream at a great price. Perfect area with the shops and activities around.
