I needed to pick up three boxes of tacos because Morningside Elementary was short of food donations for the children's Christmas party.
I went to New Braunfels first. No one acknowledged me at the counter for about eight minutes, so I just left.
Next I drove all of the way to Schertz to find a line inside of about twenty people. No one acknowledged any of us standing at the counter. After about 10 minutes of waiting I just placed an online order. Giving up my military discount of course. After $68.17 and about another 20 minutes I finally got my order. When I got to the school I discovered that two of the tacos had ripped open foil, so they had to be thrown away. We can't serve open containers to the kids. The salsa was also wrong. It was supposed to be the ranch salsa. Total it took me 1 1/2 hours to get back to school. The party was over 1 hour later
The party was two hours long. I missed half of it. This was the worst experience that we have ever had at a food establishment. We will no longer be purchasing anything from Taco Cabana again. Thank you very much for your time.
Merry Christmas and happy new year

Taco cabana is a nostalgia stop for me every time I’m in Texas. I stopped at this location on my way to San Antonio, and I just wanted to shout out the service. I always ask for a cheese quesadilla and then ask them to add ground beef because that was my favorite as a kid. Because this isn’t a standard menu item, I’ve sometimes had employees argue with me that it’s not possible. But not only did they make it, but their manager Marcy was so nice complimenting me on the addition, which was something she hadn’t seen despite working there for years. I really appreciate the service of this team during my annual stop to relive my childhood.

I don’t understand how this place passes their health dept inspections. This is the filthiest non-Chinese restaurant in New Braunfels. I gave em two starts because I did end up eating some of the greasy, dripping tacos I ordered but I’m pretty sure that was my last trip; unless it’s late late late at night and I’m drunk and I forgot how filthy and gross this place is.

And, OH GAWD! Don’t even get me started on the condiments bar… you’re better off digging condiments out of the trash. Picked over, never refreshed, 10% full, dried out nasty looking crap.

If I ever go back, I’ll take pics but you’re gonna puke.

Good food but the service for the customer is so bad. The cashier took our order wrong, I didn’t get all my food I asked for and the manager was very rude just an awful experience

This is by far the worst taco cabana in history. EVERYTIME i ask for double rice they give me double beans. It’s like they do this on purpose.

Visited on 07/06/25 at 6:20pm. Love Taco Cabana but this specific location is absolutely terrible. And I usually don’t speak badly on establishments, especially not to go to the lengths of leaving a bad review.. that’s how bad it was. Customer service was fine, but whoever you have cooking in the kitchen needs to be retrained. We got 6 tacos mostly bean and cheese and 1 shredded chicken taco. The beans tasted like they were burnt or scrapped from the bottom of the pan I don’t even understand why they would serve that. The shredded chicken taco was assembled very oddly. Lettuce and tomatoes at the bottom and a big slop of messy shredded chicken spilling out of the taco it was soggy and inedible. The bean and “cheese” tacos lacking all cheese , I’m guessing they put the cheese on the bottom of the tortilla since they also assembled the other taco backwards, and they slopped the burnt beans on top?? Very weird never seen that done before couldn’t even taste the cheese and was hardly visible upon inspection. And the salsas they gave us were mostly empty and that is not an exaggeration. Are you guys rationing salsa over there? Because all of our red and green salsas were 1/4 full.. less than half full. So crazy. Wasn’t even enough to cover all of the tacos. Which the bean ones badly needed some extra flavor. Tortillas were also dry as heck. Extremely disappointed, I wouldn’t give any stars if that was possible but I guess 1 star will have to do for this google review. My husband and I work hard for our money so when we do get to rarely eat out we hope it’ll be money well spent. Taco Cabana is amazing in San Antonio, I figured it would be great coming out of town but was extremely let down by this experience. Never EVER coming to this location again. A waste of money.

They were extremely rude because they couldn’t hear me although I was already borderline yelling; and when I got to the window they were once again rude and didn’t give me all of what I paid for which I didn’t realize until I had already left and parked.
