Honestly this is some of the best brisket I have found around here for a decent price. I particularly like the loaded mac n cheese with brisket and jalapeños ??. The chopped brisket sandwich is also really good. People are always friendly here. Every time I’m near here around lunch I’m stopping in.

Our second time here! The first time I ordered the loaded chopped bbq potato which was delicious! This time I ordered the loaded brisket nachos and the El Jefe. Be prepared to take half of that thing home! If you can fit your mouth around it you win. Go ahead, I dare you. I couldn't do it! It was delicious! Definitely going back.

HEB never ceases to amaze me. It seems whatever they put their heart into, they are going to excel at. They don't do anything without doing their research and making sure they have the best quality. I wish there was an HEB near me. Come on HEB.....Las Vegas needs you. So...not a McD's or a Subway or some other sub par fast food joint where even the service is hit and miss. True Texas BBQ is legit and their service is equally Texas friendly. Every time I've ordered, they are always patient and helpful. The food is priced pretty good. I mean, it's mid range in price and you get a good amount. If you sign up for their texts, you will get great coupons of certain foods every month. We typically get a combo of fatty and lean brisket. Both are moist and delicious but when the crispy edges with the layer of fat hit the smokey meaty part of the brisket, you get the perfect bite. I was skeptical of the turkey but pleasantly surprised. It was Smokey, tender, and juicy. Sausage is great too! It's hard to go wrong with Texas sausages though. The Mac and cheese is delicious. When your sides taste like homecoming, that's such a win! The brisket pinto beans have pieces of brisket in it. They aren't skimpy either. Of course we love the pickles, onions, and bread to go with our bbq. They have a variety of BBQ sauces for every palate. It's kind of fun to try them all to see what everyone likes the best. I'm an original or a spicy kind of gal myself. All the teas and the ice nuggets are awesome! Perfectly brewed! It is an art as I've seen so many people make teas bitter. Great job True Texas BBQ! This location is even more fun with a see through elevator to take you to a second floor for more seating. Also it may sound goofy but if you go to their bathroom you can really smell all delicious smoking woods and meats. Really great job as always HEB! Thank you for adding True Texas BBQ!!!

Food is OK but the price is not good for what they give you. $12 for two slices of turkey and it was very fatty so I could eat all of what little I had. Also, the potato salad is terrible.The reviews are correct about this place and now that I know I won't be returning to this rip off of a restaurant.

Great choices of barbecue. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient in New Braunfels. My only concern is the sides need more flavor.
This is our favorite BBQ in New Braunfels. It's been consistently absolutely delicious every time we've eaten there. The price is unbeatable too. The employees are fast and courteous.

I've been to this HEB bbq off walnut twice now, and all they gave me on my brisket nachos was nothing fat no more! There menue says chopped brisket but its not anymore chopped brisket on the nachos,, false advertising. Heb bbq is already going fown.

Not sure why this place gets such a low rating overall. My biggest complaint is they never have regular tea or even sweet tea. They do have plenty of mango/strawberry/pomegranate/tutti-frutti whatever tea that I don’t drink. I always have to ask counter staff to refill my tea in their kitchen. Which is a hassle when there is a long line of people ordering.The brisket and Turkey are excellent and well priced. I buy a beef sandwich and some Turkey for my wife. The beans are usually excellent but not much brisket in the beans I’ve noticed.Some of the customers dining here are terrible. I stood in line and some lady touched me from behind. Just some real trashy people who like to hang out here and bother everybody.It’s nice to eat and then do grocery shopping when you’re full. And the happy hour prices are awesome on Tuesdays. I hope they can get more NORMAL tea available, and I’ll change my rating.Overall, I would recommend this place to family and friends.
