Our family loves this place. Hibachi and rolls both great.

The service was great—our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made our experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was a major disappointment. The entire place could use a deep cleaning. There was an unpleasant smell inside, and many surfaces felt grimy or coated in a film of grease. I understand that hibachi restaurants involve open-flame cooking and that some grease buildup is inevitable, but the level of cleanliness here seemed well below what I would expect. It took away from what otherwise could have been a much better experience.

My daughter and I visited this restaurant on July 17, 2026, around 11:30 a.m. As soon as we walked in, we were overwhelmed by the smell of urine mixed with several other unpleasant odors. That should have been our sign to leave, but we were hungry, so we decided to order anyway.
I ordered the chicken with rice and vegetables from the lunch menu, and my daughter got the crunchy shrimp roll. The rice in her sushi was hard and brittle, and my chicken was extremely overcooked and bone dry.
The only redeeming quality of our visit was our server. He was friendly, attentive, and did a wonderful job, so we left him a generous tip because none of this was his fault.
Based on the condition of the restaurant and the quality of the food, the place felt poorly managed, and the food made it seem like the cook simply didn’t care about what was being served. I would not recommend spending your money here.
Also, their lunch menu is extremely expensive.

I’m a DoorDash and they are fairly fast service. Sometimes I wait a couple of minutes but never.

Great place
I've never been to a shogun before, so i wasnt sure if they'd have a kids menu, which doesn't matter, in my opinion, because most resturants will accommodate them. Everything was delicious my kids got steak, veggies and rice, they were both happy with. I got chicken yakisoba, the noodles were chewy and flavorful. Will go back there for sure.
We were a party of 8. Make sure all your party is present or you won't be seated. I'm not complaining just a heads up. We really enjoyed the show at the grill. Definitely will return.
Excellent!
Food was great. I really like the robot waiter

We had one scallop meal from the grill and one chicken bento meal with chicken & tempura.
We enjoyed the mild ginger and very mild mustard side sauces. Both meals came with very mildly flavored mushroom soup. The iceberg lettuce salad had a mayo dressing & was nice. … par.
The veggies in the tempura were real tempura and cooked perfectly, but the shrimp was breaded and not tempura. The shrimp was on the tough side.
The chicken was a bit tough. Tasty but tough and dry. I would not order chicken here. And well in the United States that would probably never order to cook this way again at a Japanese restaurant.
Scallops are one of my favorites and they were cooked perfectly with nice flavour. Only thing is they were very gritty. So much grit i didn’t finish them.
Both meals came with a vegetable stir that was mostly onions. Good but a bit below par.
All in all it was decent and okay but it was not 25-30 dollars per person level food.
OK, but maybe relatively… I’m a bit of a food snob? I’ve eaten food in Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma…… I’ve live in several countries and always take cooking classes to learn their flavours.
A lot of us I think are like that… we eat out because its nice to experience.
I’m happy to pay a good price, but I have to say the standard of food ‘in general’ in East Texas is very low relative to the rest of the world even just relative to the West Coast or the East Coast. It’s difficult for me to be charged as if… When the price is on the west Coast and the East Coast are even less than what we are paying here in East Texas, still.
This is definitely better than typical east TX fried food menu, but the plates we had this day were not in line w price.
The sushi we did not try is probably the better choice which I would have had, except that I had brought a parent with me who was not open to sushi.
I can see this place being my favorite if I lived locally and came in to have their sushi dishes. But definitely not the tempura shrimp nor the hibachi style cooked meats and veggies.
Respectfully as possible.

We were seated right away. Waited 15 minutes for waitress to come back after she quickly told us she'd be right back to get our orders. Meanwhile the couple next to us who came in after us had their drinks already and we're halfway done with soup and salad. After 20 min we left. No one came to serve us or take our order.
