My husband and I were driving from Georgetown down to Port Aransas. It was 1:30 pm and were hungry. We were approaching Dixon, TX and I used Yelp to find a place to eat Lunch. We decided to stop at Pioneer BBQ. It was fantastic!! The owners sat down at table next to us and tried to eat their lunch, after serving us. I had a monstrously big, juicy brisket sandwich. The sauce was great! He had a rib plate. He said it was "some of the best ribs" he had ever had. The side of spicy slaw is a must. Unfortunately, I was too full to get the cobbler, but it looked delicious. The building is located along the main drag of a very small town and I guess you could call it a hole in the wall. We call it a treasure of a find and we'll be back on our next trip to Coast.

Finally stopped at this shop after passing by on my way to Seguin numerous times. I left kicking myself for not having stopped sooner. Great atmosphere! Especially if you’re into the “ good ole days” feel of a small space with an open counter and the smell of awesome BBQ. The ladies working the counter were super friendly. But the real test was the BBQ and it did not disappoint. The brisket was spot on but I was most impressed by the chicken which I personally think is one of the most challenging proteins to get right on the pit. Me and wifey are already making plans to go back even though it’s an hour away.

Yummy! My SIL and I stopped in for lunch! Made me love white chicken meat again! So juicy and tender! She had ribs and they were awesome: juicy and tender! Best thing here, tho -that sauce!! The bbq sauce was delicious! We also had the firecracker corn, beans and potato salad - all exceptional! We love supporting local, and these folks seem to work hard and epitomize the goodness of the community! When there is a one year old getting fed this food by his momma and all you hear for ten minutes is "mmmmmmm" " mmmmmm" you know it's gotta be good!

Heard about this little bbq place and was not disappointed. Brisket was great. Beans coleslaw and coleslaw were on point. Great job guys/gals.
Brisket tasted like it was boiled. No smoke flavor and dry. Sausage was ok, beans were good, and the firecracker corn was good.

Not a fancy place, but the brisket sandwich was fantastic. The potato salad recipe was different (looked like dill) but tasted great. Unfortunately, they were out of the famous peach cobbler.
