Appears to be permanently closed? Does anyone know , acquaintances that had been there in last visit to San Antonio said great place to eat a non traditional non Tex mex cuisine.

A little difficult to find and not what we were initially expecting, but the food and service were amazing. This is quaint “private” feeling restaurant that is definitely for foodies. The tomato soup was incredible and I highly recommend it. We had a party of five and the service was impeccable. Each of the entrees were amazing as well. We will definitely be back.

Excellent is the only way to describe this restaurant, it's people, it's food and of course the chef. This is worth coming to and just enjoy. Really good and it's so nice to see people like these dedicated and performing every night. Go relax and enjoy.

EVO is really a hidden gem in the Olmos Park neighborhood. The food is just plain outstanding, the quality, flavor profiles are worth a trip to this neighborhood restaurant. We really enjoyed our dinner and experience of some very unique dishes. If were in a more frequented location I guarantee it would be more difficult to get in. As it is, we will definitely be back.

It was too expensive for the quality of food. $45 for salmon that didn't even taste great. The decor was strange, no one greeted us at the door, just overall not a great dinner.

Fantastic. Unbelievably hearty fideo. Suckling pig had crisp firm skin that provided richness without greasiness. The restaurant location is a bit unusual given the quality. Will return.

We just finished dinner at Evo. I LOVED it! The food was completely delicious and the service great. Wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Highly recommend it!

Parents first night out and we ended up at EVO. Also our first post-pandemic fine dining experience. The service was exceptional. The waiter, host, and attentive chef made us feel like their top priorit. Never an empty glasses or unattended plate. Ignore the outside and just open your mind to the food. I love pulpo (octopus) and my husband isn't a fan. We had the pulpo starter and it was the best I've had in a long time -- so tender with great flavor. My husband enjoyed it to his surprise. We recommend the salmon and suckling pig.

Cuisine was exceptional in every way. Layers of nuanced flavor elevating every dish. Portions more substantial than expected. The chef himself poured our wine. Hands down the best restaurant we've discovered in San Antonio.

Did the tasting menu, started off great but main course ok. For less than 10 tables there should have been more personal attention. After the first pour wine glasses sat empty unless you poured for yourself. Overall good experience and good food. With a few small things (not bring over another table's dirty dishes to pick up yours) this place could go from good to great

From the exterior you could easily miss this gem. The service, ambiance and food were all incredible. We had a girls weekend and we're so grateful to have found this place. Small family owned feel, which makes it comfortable and well attended. The Chef is talented and also humble. Once the bar reno is complete and they're able to offer a full bar, this place will be perfection. Great date night restaurant!

Wonderful experience, food was excellent and chef knows how to balance unique flavors and elevate familiar comfort foods. Ambiance is intimate and quiet and they made our anniversary dinner feel special. Easily one of the best fine dining establishments in San Antonio.

I really wanted to give EVO five stars, but a few service gaffes at this price point ultimately cost a star. But what a fun and exciting restaurant. We really had a lovely meal at EVO. The dining room is quite nice and contemporary, despite the simple strip mall location, you'd never know it once you step inside the tastefully decorated and modern dining room. There's an open kitchen, and those of us facing the show enjoyed keeping watch on the happenings of the chef team. We were treated to an amuse of roasted corn kernels in a bright tomato salsa that was terrific. They were served on these nice EVO branded wooden coasters, but half of them were "set" on the table upside-down. Small detail, but still. One of us wanted the 4 course tasting menu, but not the other 4 of us. At first they seemed fine with this, but it ultimately caused great confusion, with one of our party receiving an entrée before a starter. One in our party did want 4 courses, just not the selections on the tasting menu. This brought the server back to our table after our order was in to remind us that it would be "cheaper" to get the tasting menu. We responded that we ordered the food we wanted to eat. It was clumsy. Food was beautiful, creative, and delicious. The tomato soup in a puff pastry and drenched tableside in clarified butter was a highlight. Rich, savory soup was delicious. A "canoli" of crab stuffed in shaved avocado and served over pesto dressing with cherry tomatoes was a masterpiece in architecture and was light and bright. Pulpo (octopus) was tender and savory, served over two thin slices of grilled pineapple. The joining of flavors really worked, though the dish could have used a couple more slices of the sweet fruit. Another highlight was Mexican rice served with pork belly and a poached egg. Distinctly Mexican in flavor, and fun to eat. The Portobello based veggie entrée was served with a pour-over poblano broth that came out after about 5 bites in. We didn't know that the dish wasn't finished when served. It was delicious, but the broth should have come out and been served immediately. The chef/owner seemed to sense the service issues, and generously came over to apologize and then offered us a complementary bottle of wine, which was a very nice touch. Though the wine, priced on the menu at $110, was a Hess Allomi Cabernet that is very nice, but available in stores for $27. A 400% mark-up seems a bit steep. Our $15/glass of Tempranillo was poured, with a quite generous pour, still came from a $10 bottle. Other wines seemed priced similarly. Not sure if they allow BYOB with a corkage fee, but if they do, that would be the way to go. Despite the wine, the food was exceptionally well priced. The $70 4-course tasting menu seemed a very fair value for the quality, presentation and effort. All in, a really strong restaurant. I'd go again and be happy to sample more of the interesting dishes.
