I was in Orange for business and googled a place to eat. When seeing the name, I hoped it was the old Humble Cafe. Old Orange Cafe was better than my exception on every level. Its cozy, the food is delicious. The service is fast and friendly. I went back yesterday because I was passing though Orange. I love in Lake Charles, but am planning a road trip to eat there again. Oh and the chocolate Chess pie is out of this world. Next time I may get a whole pie.

They know how to run a great restaurant that defies location, location, location. In old downtown Orange TX, not to be missed. Highly popular. Great!

A Must-Stop Gem on I-10! The Best Surprise Between Houston and New Orleans
We were making the long drive from Houston to New Orleans on I-10 and decided we needed a much-needed coffee break. Thanks to a quick Google search, we ended up finding this absolute treasure: the old Orange Cafe.
Honestly, this detour turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to our trip. The food here is genuinely the best—a perfect, hearty meal that was exactly what we needed.
But what truly sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The people were so lovely and welcoming, making us feel right at home the moment we walked in. Paired with the truly extraordinary service, this isn't just a cafe; it's a true taste of local hospitality.
If you find yourself passing through, do yourself a favor and stop here. Highly, highly recommend!

We had the catered brisket dinners for our wedding rehearsal dinner recently and it was absolutely delicious! The driver was prompt and courteous as well. The groom requested Old Orange Cafe bread pudding with rum sauce for his cake. It was a huge hit!! I highly recommend Chef David and Old Orange to cater your next event. We couldn’t be happier!
This place has amazing food! Ive had 3 different things, and all 3 were phenomenal. Service is great too, I have had Mrs.Laurie and Mrs.Rainey every time. Super friendly and welcoming. With me being here for work, finding good food and good service makes me feel right at home!
Good food at a reasonable price

Came here for a work event and loved it! Loved the history of the building, the small town feel, the food was delicious! Great beer selection too. I got the grouper, heard the salmon is a great choice too

My husband and I went on 7/20/25 and the food was spot on, the service was fair but the atmosphere was not welcoming. Shame it's a nice building and very clean. We've never felt so uncomfortable and not welcome before.

First time there. Seated quickly. Had seen complaints about country fried steak, but mine was pulling apart just cutting it. Delicious. Will go again. Highly recommend. Server Rainey was on top of her game.
