We returned to 915, and it had been a while since we had EP BBQ, which is different than North Dallas BBQ. The 3 monkies were left with grandma, and the parents went to the State Line. The State Line is located on the border of Texas and New Mexico. There is plenty of parking in the front of the building and the dining area is big. We arrived early in the day, and it was empty, which allowed this fat guy to order the all you can eat plate with 6 meats. The wife kept it conservative and ordered the BBQ sandwich. Before the meal, warm bread was brought to the table, and that started my weight to go up quickly. It was good. Our server brought me the sides, beans, slaw, and potatoe salad. Then, the animal farm arrived. The beef ribs were on point with the BBQ sauce, adding an extra something to it. The turkey was dry, and brisket had enough fat to have flavor. OHHH my, did I need a crane to get out? Yet, I felt a pain in my chest, not because of all the animal flesh I ate, or because I got fatter, it was the bill. If we had brought the boys, my credit card would have been declined. The total for 2 was $66 plus tip. Look, if you're in El Paso, you need to stop there to eat. it's a must.
Been going since 80's. The quality and taste has gone way down and the price has gone way up. We will not be going there any more. Food was awful.
Even though this was one of my favorite restaurants, I had not been back after COVID. I wasn’t sure what to expect since quality and service have declined so much at most restaurants. What a pleasant surprise that the food and service was still excellent. Food portions were large, tasty, and our server was polite and always checking on our table. We ordered the three meat combo and a hamburger. Both plates excellent and very filling.
I loved this place cause it was fun having a restaurant in your local area and with deweyville not being big it was good knowing we didn’t have to drive all the way to orange
The food here is very good, we do miss the pulled pork sandwiches. They give you a choice of sides, also excellent. Just be prepared for the noise. Great place for tasty food though and they give you lots of it.
Great beer selection. The sausage and BBQ sauce appetizer is excellent. I ordered St Louis Back Ribs, as usual, this time these were dry and hard. (October 12, 2022) Restroom had a bad smell.
Customer service gets an A+ for both server (Jessica) and the bartender who improvised to make me a jalapeño margarita. Now for the food… one word..SALTY. Omg ribs, mushrooms and even the coleslaw was loaded with salt. Felt like a heart attack meal. Nope, not for me.
This was a GIANT plate of ribs (yep, just a rack...it's huge anyway) - with great texture and flavor. Maybe I got lucky on the day and time - but I would return just for the ribs. 5 meat sampler - turkey was my favorite, brisket also good - but all of it was simply gigantic. Spring for the better bread - very nice. Sides are small - but this is because you do not need a side. Or an appetizer. Also enjoyed sending the server to New Mexico for my beer, over and over again. Nice selection over there. Also - priced right. This is NOT fine dining - it's a messy smelly bbq joint - but if that's what you're hungry for - I'm giving it 4 stars - I save 5 stars for elegance. Ain't no elegance here - it's a meat place. smells great!
Stateline has been around for a long time. I am not a big fan of the restaurant simply because it is difficult to mass produced good quality fresh BBQ. What ends up happening is the best becomes dry while waiting to be served. This is the problem with Stateline. We are the turkey, ribs, and the brisket and every cut of meat was dry unfortunately. We have been here numerous times and every time it is the same. It is a local favorite so maybe expectations aren't high. I would rather go elsewhere.
My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, With the Covid we have not been able to return until yesterday. We were so looking forward to coming back. We USED TO love this restaurant. Man has it changed for the worst! The potato salad was more mashed potatoes than potato salad. It USED TO BE chunks of potato and large pieces of other ingredients that make up a potato salad The supposed home-made bread tasted more like store bought bread. It USED TO BE flavorful and had a light sweetness that made it a meal of itself. The coleslaw was bland. Boy or boy the food was a disappointment.

Went to this restaurant for Father’s Day with my daughter, the food is usually good but on this day it was terrible. I had the 5 Meat Smokehouse Combo, the ribs were burnt, the brisket was dry and looked a couple of days old, or reserved after someone else returned it, the turkey was also dry, and finally the sausage, I’ve not seen anything that looked like it ever at this restaurant. This has been my worst experience at this restaurant.
Our first ever whataburger! Prompt, friendly service. Food hot and fresh. Delicious Dr Pepper shake. Restaurant appeared clean.
The beef ribs are beefy, gigantic and at least 6 inches long. The St. Louis pork ribs were juicy and the meat falls right off the bone. I had the ribeye and should have ordered ribs after all that’s what they’re famous for. All of the sides, beans, coleslaw, baked potatoes were very tasty. We had the house Cabernet with our meal and it was perfect. Order the ribs and don’t forget the cobbler you will not be disappointed.
After more than ten years not visiting State line.. we decided for my husbands birthday to go out and celebrate after all of us being vaccinated. we drove from the far east side of town. We were so looking forward to it as I remember the good old days and how great food and service was. We arrived and the receptionist smiled but was so "matter of fact" and rushed after i had just explained to her how we had not been her in a long time and were here for my husband's birthday. I tried to brush it off as I was there to celebrated and perhaps I was over thinking it. A nice gentleman showed to the booth in the back section and He was quite pleasant. we sat down and about to look at the menu, when an attendant showed up and the only thing she said was " do you need more time".. not a hello or a welcome or a nice gesture.. super flustered and rushed..of course we said give us a minute.. she then returned and took our order.. rushed.. and did not offer us a beverage since she saw that we had coctails..i stopped before she ran off.. and asked for tea and water with our meal. meal came quickly..and after that we did not see her at all until it was time to bring the check. we were not offered an extra plate to put the rib bones.. so half of our plates were eaten ribs and half not.. It was disgusting!.. when she came at the end i asked her to please remove plate full of rib bones. she brought us a box for leftovers.. and left again... she never came back so we left and looked for comeone to charge us.. she then notice her table was empty and ran after us as though we would leave without paying. needless to say no gratuity was left.. A gratuity is earned not assumed!.. this place is not what it it used to be.. from beginning to end, except for the nice gentlemen who sat us.., was not a good experience.. what a way to ruin a celebration!.. I hope management reads reviews in hopes they improve their service.. as for us we will not return for a long time.. and will tell everyone we know about our experience and NO i would not recommend this place to anyone at this time .. Oh by the way.. they told me it would be a wait because they were at 30% capacity due to covid.. yet when we we called for our table... every single table was taken no social distance whatsover!.
Delicious Burgers!!!! So glad we stopped here in Orange, TX for lunch. We saw the orange and white striped room several feet before the Exit. Food was fresh and warm!!! Service was prompt!!! Restaurant was very clean!!!
