Clean and spacious camp sites. Spectacular views of the bay. Breezy and albeit hot, the pool was clean and refreshing. Beautiful surroundings. Pleasant staff.
Great place. Good fishing, relaxing time every-time we visit! Park staff are friendly and ensure all are taken care of!
We had a great time at this park. Very clean, good responsive personnel. And my dog loved the crews free biscuit delivered to the dog park every morning. Recommended.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. As full-time RVers who have traveled coast to coast and stayed at countless campgrounds across the U.S., I can confidently say that the KOA in Port Lavaca is in a league of its own. Truly off the chain!
Let’s talk highlights:
• Absolutely breathtaking views of Matagorda Bay—some of the best waterfront sites we’ve ever had.
• Incredible amenities:
• A fishing pier, boat slips, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and yes—even those giant floating aqua trikes (so fun!).
• A pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, pickleball, volleyball, and even an arcade.
• A dog park for your furry travel companions.
• On-site pizza and camp store—this might sound small, but after a long drive and late check-in, having hot, delicious pizza on-site is a game changer.
• Spacious, perfectly laid-out sites, many right on the water. Some allow you to fish right from your campsite!
• Super clean grounds and facilities, with friendly, welcoming staff who make you feel right at home.
What really sets this KOA apart is that it’s not just RV-friendly—it’s boater-friendly too. With boat slips available, you could literally arrive by land or by sea. It’s situated directly on the bay, which connects to the Gulf, making it a paradise for anglers and water lovers.
A couple tips:
• Bring mosquito spray—being on the bay, the bugs do come out after sundown.
• Book early if you want one of those primo waterfront sites—they’re worth every penny!
Final word: This campground offers everything—relaxation, adventure, scenery, and convenience. It’s a gem on the Texas coast and we’re already planning our return. Port Lavaca KOA, you nailed it.
Nice little camp ground. Very relaxing and good fishing. Staff were very helpful. Highlight was a pod of dolphins swimming right behind our motorhome. Would definitely recommend.
Got a cabin with a bay water view. It was super peaceful and beautiful. I wish I had more time there!
I had a wonderful experience at this RV Resort and the management and employees are very friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying again in the future and you surely can’t go wrong booking a stay at this resort.
Stayed for a month, bay view site 135, becareful on this site backed into tree at site, busted ladder.(ugh).inside staff great, pizza great, site not level maxed out my levelers in back.
Fish do bite but plan on many hours before you catch fish, big one are there.
Good stay would stay again
Beautiful, well maintained, clean. KOA on Matagorda Bay. Beautiful beach. Breazy but nice in the heat. Hot tub, heated pool. Plenty of games to play, etc. Staff is very devoted. Location is off the beaten path, which is great!. Though 15min away is Wal-Mart & town. The other direction, 5min, is a very nice Dollar General.
Wonderful well maintained, clean laundry, cleaning before arriving was a but neglected (poop), and that 1000watts light at the back deck of the office is pretty bright for the closer site.

Property manager was very helpful and professional, but the other staff members are very rude and prejudiced towards Minority’s of other races. When do the groundkeeper tell you at 7:00 pm that quite time is at 10:00 pm. When you checkin the front desk person let you know that already. Staffing need to do just what they are paid to do. And management need to look at getting and keeping it full to make money. They don’t talk polite to other people’s. This is our second time staying there. There. They are under new management and there staffing sucks. Won’t be going back there. One ship down.
Nice place
Friendly staff in a great location. Great lighted fishing pier. Lots of stuff for kiddos to do. Laundry facilities were clean, spacious, and plenty of washers and dryers available.
Beautiful place to stay, staff were fantastic and friendly. The facility was very well organized and very clean. Definitely a place I go again. Thank you
Absolutely wonderful KOA! The grounds and amenities are very well kept. Right on the bay with lots of space to fish or sit and watch the water. Heated pool, splash pad and lots of games for the whole family. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They come pickup your garbage from your site every morning, nice dog park, propane refills and more. This is the best KOA we have stayed at.
