A friend and I drove from Nacogdoches County yesterday, and stopped in for a late lunch. She got the special grilled cheese, and I got the blackened catfish with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus as my sides. She enjoyed her sandwich. My fish was tasty, However, the asparagus was stringy and inedible and I have never understood why places that have baked potatoes on the menu as a regular side would serve instant mashed potatoes. Plus, our lunch was accompanied by buzzing flies....
A small community, family run venue. We were pleasantly surprised as the food was excellent, well plated and the menu was more in line with well-known, bigger restaurants. Absolutely no complaints.
This our go to place!! Waitstaff knows us by name. Knows our drink orders, kids included. They’re so beyond friendly and amazing food. Hal makes this place feel like home, and is the most caring owner in Palestine! We love hambones and the entire team!!
