I came in around 11:10 AM and ordered a beer and a pulpo and shrimp cocktail. Service started off well—the server was attentive, and the food appeared fresh.
However, after eating about a third of the cocktail, I noticed something off with the shrimp. I inspected several more and found that none of them had been deveined. That’s a basic expectation in seafood preparation, especially for a dish served cold like a cocktail. I showed about eight undeveined shrimp to the server and then requested the manager.
I told the manager, “You guys are in the seafood business, right?” They agreed the shrimp should have been cleaned properly and took the dish back. I was offered 50% off the plate, which I appreciated. I still tipped the server, as the issue clearly came from the kitchen.
I was disappointed by the lack of quality control. If you serve seafood, basic preparation should never be overlooked.
