Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews

Tonight was one of the most upsetting dining experiences my family and I have ever had, and it happened at Red Robin in Pasadena on Vista Rd.
We initially decided on Red Robin because our 4- and 5-year-old daughters were too hungry to wait out the long line at another restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated fairly quickly, but after that… nothing. We sat for no less than 20 minutes without a single server approaching us. The staff clearly saw us, and even the host who sat us knew we were there, yet no one acknowledged us until the assistant manager finally came by and asked if we had been helped.
By that point, I was already uneasy. Looking around the restaurant, it was impossible to ignore that every other table — all non-Black families — had been greeted and served, while we sat there ignored. The only thing that seemed to set us apart was the color of our skin.
We decided to at least order drinks and an appetizer since our little girls were starving, but even that took another 15+ minutes after my husband had to track someone down to ask about it. When the appetizer finally arrived, I no longer felt comfortable staying. If a restaurant doesn’t want to serve us because we are Black, then I couldn’t trust that our food would even be safe. At that point, we paid for what we had and left.
What broke my heart most was trying to explain this to our daughters. They didn’t understand why we had to leave when they were so hungry, and as a parent, it’s gut-wrenching to know the real reason — that we were treated differently and unwelcome in a place we came to simply enjoy a meal together.
I do not take accusations of discrimination lightly. In my entire life, I’ve never felt so strongly that we were being mistreated solely because of race until tonight. This was more than just bad service. It was an experience that left us feeling invisible, unwelcome, and unsafe.
Red Robin, no family should ever have to walk away with that kind of pain and disappointment — least of all while holding the hands of two little girls who deserved nothing but kindness and a warm meal.

I was at first really excited to eat here as I have not eaten here in a while but I can’t help but be upset about my overall service at this place. First off the waitress could not get our drinks right. Ik that she was new but we had to ask multiple for things regarding our drinks. We then Order some chips and caso for an Appetizer. Then my father ordered a beer and they did not have his on draft like he likes. No biggie, he ordered a Jack and coke instead. The Waitress then brings him a double shot with no coke. We again had to ask for the coke. She brings us a coke all the while we still have not got our chips and caso and it has been about 20 mins since we order it. I ask the waitress about how much longer as we have already order our main course and she said that they were in the process of making it. About 30 mins go by and they bring out our burgers while we still have not had any chips yet. The waitress then tired to bring the chips out then and we ended up sending it back as we don’t need it now that we have our food. Then upon looking at my fathers burger that he ordered with no mayo, it had mayo all over the top bun. We sent it back and it took them about 10 mins back there just to scrape it off the burger and add a new bun which then took off the BBQ sauce that the burger was supposed to come with. To top it off I then asked for a refill of my sweet potato fries and the waitress brings out the wrong fries. Overall not satisfied with the service I got and the pricing is just ridiculous. I didn’t see it at the time but the prices of the burgers is just that.. the burger. You have to pay an additional 4 dollars for the sides. Those burgers are not worth 18 dollars in my opinion. Even with my previous excitement, I can’t say that I will be back to dine at this place.

Montana was the best waitress we have ever had anywhere!!! She was so attentive and made our lunch super enjoyable!!!! She was a 15 out of 10!!! A+++++++ Would LOVE to have her wait on us everytime we come!!!

The service was amazing the food came out nice and hot the exact way we order it. Our wait staff was super friendly and made us laugh she is the best. Her name was tanna she was the best.

This location by far has had the friendliest staff compared to other surrounding restaurants. Waitresses were friendly and attentive and food was good. They usually have whatever game is on at the time and will change the channel on request.

The food a the server Ana was very sweet after a hard day of working choosing where to eat is difficult especially when you are tried! First time at this location very clean expect for the manager was rude he just brought the food I ask for A1 steak sauce he said they did have any please stock get a better manager where he ask if we need any refills

Great place. Been to this location several times and the food is great every time. Definitely recommend
