I enjoyed the food here a lot. The staff is very helpful, and will make sure they hook your plate up. Their cornbread is the best I’ve ever had. Their yams, fried fish and Mac and cheese is very good. I recommend eating here.

First time at “The greasy spoons” Found the restaurant on TikTok.. I don’t read any reviews because I was so excited to try some good soul food (I wish I did read first) We ordered 2 plates of Herb chicken, Mash potatoes and greens. And one White rice, corn and Mac& cheese. Everything didn't fresh which is why we both choose chicken.The restaurant is nice and clean. Great customer service. As for the foodThe mash potatoes are really good. Chicken was cold salty. Everything else we ordered wasn’t good the green and the Mac & cheese was terrible no flavor. The corn was bland also has bell peppers in it. Rice was also bad and The corn bread was thick and dry didn’t taste good at all. Also brought cookies they was super sweet but nice and soft. Very disappointed in the food. I wouldn’t recommend.

This place was ok. The service was super slow and when we finally got to the counter, they ran out of Mac/ cheese and greens but weren't putting anymore out (keep in mind we went at 4 pm and they close at 9pm). We got our food and it was cold. Not sure if we're going back.
They were out of almost all of their vegetables, and the employees were rude and rushing people. My family and I walked out and went to Mikki's Restaurant. They had great ? food and fantastic , excellent customer service. I'm not from Houston, but I have family there, and Mikki's Restaurant will be our Soul Food spot forever. Teach your staff about being polite, curious, understanding, respectful, and patient.

It depends on who is serving. Sometimes when you go you can get what you pay for, on other times they are stingy with food. Ordered oxtails and gave a small amount to go. Food was Okay, not great.My biggest issue when I visited I observed the owner serving to go plates with no gloves on. That is unsanitary. Not sure if I would be a returning customer.
