“Today was a nice day and I decided to go to Mikkis for my Seniors dinner. When I arrived a staff member opened the door for me. Then the lines was not jammed. My order was placed and the staff were prompt in responding. The turkey wings are fall off the bone good. The gravy is just the right consistency. The mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious. The cabbage is fresh and sweet as candy. The yams, my goodness, can anyone do yams like this restaurant. Absolutely not. The cornbread is such a good texture, it is almost like cake. The staff has changed to a more friendly and polite team. Always enjoy my visits here.”

“So I have to give an honest review of my brunch experience Saturday, June 6, 2026. We mainly went and I’m not sure if this episode was a rerun or if it was new but we saw the episode of Goodtaste with Tanji that was on channel 2 that morning. Husband ordered fish tacos and I ordered a burger. Fish tacos were good and the onion rings were all good. My burger was a little dry and the service was good. But my biggest disappointment was the Bloody Mary. I saw that they had a build your own Bloody Mary option on their brunch menu but according to the waitress it’s only available on Sundays so I did not get that so I just ordered a bloody Mary. I did tell the waitress to not put celery in it since I’m not a celery person and it would just go to waste. So she brought me my Bloody Mary and all it contained was two of the poorest, looking olives that I have ever seen. I think they were even smaller than the ones that you buy at the grocery store in the jars. The waitress did notice my expression on my face when she gave it to me and she asked me what was wrong. I asked, was this all that they give with the bloody Mary? I wasn’t looking for a meal, but I’d like to squeeze a little lemon and lime in my bloody Mary . she said let me see what I can get for you. And I wish I would’ve taken a picture of this, but she brought me back a plate that had two pieces of bacon, some spicy sauce (not sure what I was supposed to do with that) and another little cup that had some sliced pickled onions (husband put those on his fish tacos) and two stalks of green onion that look like they had been sitting In pickling juice at the bottom of the jar. I will say the bloody Mary itself had great taste, great flavor, but the presentation was horrible and I’m writing this review and hoping that they see this and they step up their game.”

“O M G! When I say this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten....I'm nit cluckin With you!! It was absolutely perfect from the decadent Brioche bun, the rich crispy but light batter, the juicy chicken, perfectly sweet slaw and sauce with JUST the right amount of heat. When they sat it in front of me I didn't think I could eat it all it was so large.... but it was TOO PERFECT to not enjoy the entire thing. I only wish they were in Austin also. If your ANYWHERE within an hour of this place, it's worth the drive. The employees were also delightful, cheerful and appreciative. 50 STARS!!”

We go in to see what is open, The Puddery was closed, but as the owner was leaving she asked if we wanted one of the banana pudding she had left my husband said yes, I said no I will share with him (which I would regret later). We get on our way and star eating the banana pudding and OMG!!! The #keithlee review was spot on!!!! If you live anywhere near Houston you have to try The Puddery. This is coming from a banana pudding snob—-this is the best banana pudding I have ever had!!! It is light, fluffy , and creamy without out being puddingy, I don’t know what witchery this is but my God!!!”

“This is great if you want (what I call) Texas Cajun and not Louisiana Cajun. Their chicken fried steak and parmesan crusted chicken are both fabulous! The bisque is also amazing. My husband, who is from Louisiana, detests their crawfish. He says the Gumbo (which has a super dark rue) and the etouffee are ok but not his favorite. Overall, it seems like the fried and creamy sauced things are usually great. Also, we really like they usually have 80-90s music playing.
Updating (July 2026) to say that this place is hit or miss. When it's good, its great. However, more often than not, it's not as good as it used to be.”

“If you haven’t visited Pollo Bravo, you need to stop what you’re doing a run here! The minute you walk into the restaurant you are greeted with a warm welcome. You can pick wherever you’d like to sit, and the waitress will bring you a menu. We usually start with the green plantains and the crispy taquitos. Each time I come (which is quite often), I try something different. Their food is always fresh and made to order. Their prices are fair and the quality of their food is out of this world! They are also family friendly, and have a kid’s menu. I have yet to be disappointed and I know you will feel the same, so the next time you are wanting to try something different bring your entire family!”

My husband, who is from Louisiana, detests their crawfish. He says the Gumbo (which has a super dark rue) and the etouffee are ok but not his favorite. Overall, it seems like the fried and creamy sauced things are usually great. Also, we really like they usually have 80-90s music playing.

It started with seating and continued to go downhill from there. The poor waitress, who by the way had only been on the job a week did her very best to try and save us from this disaster, how much can she do when she was only one of three servers working. The food was subpar at best and the think that a meal with an average price point of nearly $100 we would not have been served food to be eaten on Styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Three of four in our party ordered crab only to not be offered shell crackers or zippers, when we asked for some we were told they were locked in the office and the manager was in a meeting so she could not retrieve them! When we asked for the manager she offered an apology but confirmed this was the owner's policy, my guess is they must cost a million bucks to replace. The food was watery and luke-warm, the drinks had very little spirits and overall food was under seasoned. I beg you to NEVER wast your money or time on this place!”
