When they sat it in front of me I didn't think I could eat it all it was so large.... but it was TOO PERFECT to not enjoy the entire thing. I only wish they were in Austin also. We go in to see what is open, The Puddery was closed, but as the owner was leaving she asked if we wanted one of the banana pudding she had left my husband said yes, I said no I will share with him (which I would regret later). We get on our way and star eating the banana pudding and OMG!!! The #keithlee review was spot on!!!! If you live anywhere near Houston you have to try The Puddery. This is coming from a banana pudding snob—-this is the best banana pudding I have ever had!!! It is light, fluffy , and creamy without out being puddingy, I don’t know what witchery this is but my God!!!”

“Today was a nice day and I decided to go to Mikkis for my Seniors dinner. When I arrived a staff member opened the door for me. Then the lines was not jammed. My order was placed and the staff were prompt in responding. The turkey wings are fall off the bone good. The gravy is just the right consistency. The mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious. The cabbage is fresh and sweet as candy. The yams, my goodness, can anyone do yams like this restaurant. Absolutely not. The cornbread is such a good texture, it is almost like cake. The staff has changed to a more friendly and polite team. Always enjoy my visits here.”

“I can’t recount the amount of times I’ve frequented this restaurant, but maybe that’s a testament to how much I enjoy the food and ambiance here. I love their rotating menu on the chalkboard because I get to try something new and the service is always great; I haven’t had a bad experience yet. My server Danny was welcoming and very patient with my inquiries on the menu and gave me great recommendations when I was stuck between picking dishes to enjoy, he was wonderful.”

It was my fault I should have asked if the coleslaw was gluten-free but I never in my life would expect ramen noodles in my coleslaw. So if you are gluten-free make sure to ask or let them know.”

“This is great if you want (what I call) Texas Cajun and not Louisiana Cajun. Their chicken fried steak and parmesan crusted chicken are both fabulous! The bisque is also amazing. My husband, who is from Louisiana, detests their crawfish. He says the Gumbo (which has a super dark rue) and the etouffee are ok but not his favorite. Overall, it seems like the fried and creamy sauced things are usually great. Also, we really like they usually have 80-90s music playing.

Updating (July 2026) to say that this place is hit or miss. When it's good, its great. However, more often than not, it's not as good as it used to be.”

From the moment we walked in, Dylan greeted us with a friendly smile and an incredible attitude. His personality was absolutely contagious, he was welcoming, upbeat, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure every customer had a great experience.
What really stood out was how attentive he was throughout our visit. He checked on us regularly, made sure we had everything we needed, and never made us feel forgotten. It's rare to receive customer service that feels so genuine these days, but Dylan went above and beyond to make us feel valued.

The food was fantastic, but exceptional customer service is what truly makes a dining experience memorable, and Dylan absolutely delivered.

You can pick wherever you’d like to sit, and the waitress will bring you a menu. We usually start with the green plantains and the crispy taquitos. Each time I come (which is quite often), I try something different. Their food is always fresh and made to order. Their prices are fair and the quality of their food is out of this world! They are also family friendly, and have a kid’s menu. “I took my husband here for a Father’s Day celebration with our two little kids and we met up with another family here. Our server was so sweet and gorgeous! Everyone there was having a great time, and I’m leaving this review to share how phenomenal the food was! I was too busy to enjoy my flight of hotdogs there so I took them home and I can’t stop thinking about how good they were! Mad props to the chef in the kitchen!!! I want to go back to try more food.
