The service was INCREDIBLE. They really make you feel like a King at King Shark.
The food was pretty good, but nothing spectacular.

The menu has many options. This place is always crazy busy with all the workers in town. The food was really good as was the service.

I have eaten at King Shark twice, and unfortunately both visits were disappointing. The presentation of my food looked like it had been thrown together, and the entire plate looked messy and unappetizing.

The biggest concern was that I was served raw shrimp. As a pregnant woman, that is extremely concerning because undercooked seafood can be a serious health risk. I was shocked that my meal was sent out that way.

After giving this restaurant a third chance and having another bad experience, I won’t be returning. I really hope they improve their food quality, presentation, and kitchen standards so other customers don’t have the same experience I did.

Food was really good, I got a burger and I got no complaints, was everything a burger should be! Been drying to come back out here just to eat here, and the atmosphere is pretty damn awesome, TVs all over, showing just about every sport, sports I didn’t even know existed!

I had high expectations for The King Shark based on all the buzz and glowing reviews, but after our recent visit, I’m convinced it’s significantly overrated. While the ambiance is nice and the menu looks impressive on paper, the actual experience fell flat, especially when it came to basic hospitality and respect for customers.
We arrived on time for our reservation and were initially seated at a pleasant table. However, on two separate occasions during our meal, staff approached us and asked us to move to a different table. The first time was “to accommodate a larger party,” and the second was supposedly for “better flow in the dining room.” Both times it felt like we were being shuffled around not for our comfort, but purely to suit the needs of other patrons and the restaurant’s own convenience. Moving mid-meal is disruptive and frankly rude—especially when we had already settled in and started eating.
Even more frustrating was the service. Our original waitress was attentive and friendly. When we politely requested to keep her as our server (after the second seating change), management stepped in and replaced her anyway with someone else. It felt dismissive of our simple request and left a sour taste. The new server was fine but clearly not as familiar with our table or our preferences, which further disrupted the flow of the evening.
As for the food: it was decent but nothing groundbreaking for the price point. Portions were on the smaller side, and while everything was well-presented, the flavors didn’t live up to the hype or the cost. We left feeling underwhelmed rather than impressed.
Overall, The King Shark seems more interested in optimizing table turns and appearances than delivering a consistently excellent guest experience. I won’t be returning and would caution others to manage their expectations. There are plenty of other great spots in the area that actually value their customers without the unnecessary disruptions.
Would not recommend.

We make the trip from El Paso to Abilene quite often. I decided to find a place in Pecos to rest up and have a sit down meal (something we never do). This was the greatest decision we ever made. King Shark is truly a HIDDEN GEM! My husband and I were floored at what we found in little ol Pecos! We took a trip to Maine last year, and we both agreed the moment we walked in we felt we were back in many of the restaurants we visited out there. The atmosphere was a 10 out of 10. Then the food came.....WOW! My husband's burger not only looked mouth watering but tasted and was cooked to perfection. I wish I could remember the name but it had both the traditional ground beef patty accompanied with carne asada. Absolutely amazing. I ordered the fish tacos. They were on point and the Chipotle sauce that accompanied them, yummm! Service was on point. I noticed the servers worked as a team. If our original server was tied up another server was there taking care of us. Anyhow 10 out of 10 for us and we'll definitely be back!
