Pita Shack Best Halal Mediterranean Restaurant

Friendly staff but I ordered a meal and the whole thing tasted bad. I ate about half the meal and had to toss the rest.

Disappointing Experience – Doesn’t Live Up to the Hype

I don’t understand the high ratings for Pitta Shack Mediterranean—my visit was far from the glowing reviews. Here’s why:

1. Lamb Salad – Tiny portion for the price, and the lamb was greasy and bland.
2. Sheesh Kebab Plate – Dry, overcooked, and lacked flavor.
3. Rice – Stale and dry, as if it had been sitting out for hours.
4. Baba Ganoush – No smoky depth, just a bland eggplant mush.
5. White Sauce – A key part of Mediterranean food, but they gave barely any!

Only the falafel was decent, but that’s not enough to save the meal.I won’t be returning.

Small place with vast variety of menu. Lamb shish kabab was good. Was a little on tougher side maybe a little over cooked. Otherwise good place, will try a few other dishes next time. For the location of the restaurant the price seemed to be pretty high. Maybe inflation!

It was okay, but cost was way high for the level of food quality. Not sure how people give 5 stars if they are honest when there are many other better options for less $ in the Austin area. For instance, a 12oz can of soda was $3.88 and a gyro wrap was $15. Service was friendly and pretty fast. I think if they do a combo of reduce prices, keep the good service, improve the decor, and offer larger portions, they would earn 4-5 stars from non-biased reviewers.

For $40 bucks I expected better. The meat was old the pita was sloppy and I will never order here again! 😡

The place is nice, and the food was good, offering a Mediterranean taste. However, for a spot that asks for tips, we didn’t receive any notable service. Improving the atmosphere could make it even better, but overall, it’s a decent choice for Mediterranean cuisine.

Decent place for quick Mediterranean bites. I felt like there wasn't enough seasoning (could've asked for sauce but I forgot to). Service was good and I would probably stop in if I'm in the area again.

My family and I have been going to Pita Shack for over a year. We always loved the food. I noticed a few months back they started putting more mayonnaise in their white sauce and diluted their hummus. These are obvious cost cutting measures I can understand, while acknowledging it makes the meal not as good. However they have recently increased the cost of their food, likely to keep up with inflation. My family and I will have to stop getting food from here if the quality remains lower while the new price point is probably here to stay. The sauces used to be delicious and flavorful, but now don’t add much flavor and if you use too much white sauce you get an obvious mayonnaise taste. If you’re going to keep the prices up please bring back more flavor and less filler to the sauces.

You will find a few pieces of meat scattered here and there on their so called “meaty special pizza”

My husband and I happened to come across this restaurant when we were at the Arabic grocery store next door. I am so glad we did! The ladies went above and beyond to serve us and were so sweet! Their food Is made from scratch and is delicious!!! We had the falafel wrap and chicken shawarma wraps and took some to go! So glad we found you ladies and I can’t wait to come back! شكراً

I want to be kind but honestly this is a halal place but their portions are small and their service is a bit slow despite having 4 cooks. Also they have no free refills. I want to be kind but I cannot, they are mediocre at best

Vegetarian options: Did not see any veg dishes. Seems like rice maybe fried in tallow. Please ask before
