This place desperately needed new management. Service was great and fast and the food was a lot better than I remember.

Went around 9pm on a Friday night. The restaurant was mostly empty, with maybe 2 other tables. We sat down and ordered garlic knots and a large pizza. Both the garlic knots and pizza took 45 minutes. After the initial 20 minutes went by and we still didn’t have our appetizer, the waitress told us they had just gotten “bombarded” with take out orders and that our food would be ready soon. We asked her how they prioritize orders and she said that it’s just in the order they are placed. The people actually sitting down in their restaurant do not take precedence over people sitting at home ordering online. 10 minutes later, we got up and asked if our food was at least in the oven. Had they not already put it in the oven, we were prepared to drive over to Cane’s. The manager ended up bringing our garlic knots out and we asked her the same question - why do people sitting down in the restaurant take priority over say, an Uber Eats order? To the point where we’re waiting 45 minutes for 2 items in an empty restaurant? She did not seem to understand this issue nor did she offer any rational explanation. She did offer to discount our food and honored that. When our pizza was brought out, she asked if it was worth the wait. We had to answer honestly, it was okay, but not worth sitting there with not even an appetizer. I feel like I would’ve understood if they had at least warned us that they were getting swamped with orders and to expect a wait, but there was little communication. I’m very disappointed in this location, I’ve had better experiences with this same chain at two of their Houston locations.

First time dining here. My son and I were seated fast despite it being super crowded with large families or parties. It smelled wonderful in there and the dessert cabinet looked delicious with all the dessert options. Yummy! I had a hard time choosing from the many options on the menu but chose the simplest thing, Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. It was OK but not as thick as I'm used to. I really wanted to try the pizza but we'll be back for that among the other dishes I saw passing by me the whole time. 😋😄

***Update***
Came on 8-8-2025 to check out the new ownership. Last time we came was not a good experience which was 3 or so years ago under the last ownership. I can say it smelled delicious walking in, we were seated quickly, and service was great despite being busy and understaffed. Food was a much better and presentable. Staff were friendly and handled themselves professionally. Definitely come back and try it out if you were disappointed with the previous ownership. They are hiring servers so if anyone is needing a job please apply. We throughly enjoyed it and walked away stuffed. 👏🏼🍝🍗🍕👨🏽‍🍳

We came in with family who were craving pizza and thought this would be a safer bet than MOD Pizza but we were way off. It was hot inside, like uncomfortably warm, and there was a faint weird smell that didn’t help. The cake in the fridge up front didn’t look very appealing either and honestly, the fridge felt about as effective as the AC (which wasn’t working great).

Our waiter was young and very sweet, but he forgot our drink order twice. Overall, with so many other options in Stone Hill, I’d recommend skipping this one.

Reply to mgmts response: Thanks for the response. Just to clarify — my visit was actually yesterday, not a past experience. Based on your message, it sounds like improvements were already supposed to be in place, but unfortunately, that wasn't reflected during my visit. I appreciate the offer and the response, but I wanted to make sure you knew this was a very recent experience.

Sam was hands down the highlight of our visit to Russo’s Pizza! From the moment she greeted us, her energy was so warm and genuine—it instantly set the tone for a great experience. She has a natural way of making people feel comfortable and cared for, without ever being over the top. You can tell she takes pride in what she does and really enjoys connecting with her guests. It’s rare to find someone so professional, kind, and attentive all at once. Sam, thank you for making our night so enjoyable—you’re a true gem!
