First time I have to trash a Texas BBQ and I’ve tried most in Austin. The brisket plate was literally 95% potatoes and beans for $25?! Vibe I would describe as “super hood”, the noise (music and obnoxious people) and weed completely overpower the food smell and mediocre taste. Wouldn’t be acceptable by Jersey bbq standards.

I absolutely love everything about TaterQue! It’s a family feeling and a beautiful vibe! Trivia Tuesdays and Karaoke Thursdays are amazing!! But if you just want good food to take home, they got that too!! Come by!!

Super late review, however they catered at our wedding in October 2025. Our guests still talk about how delicious their food was at our wedding. Andrea and Bobbie were very friendly and made us feel right at home. We highly recommend the ribs, honey butter cornbread, brisket on a bun, and fully loaded spuds casserole style. We will be back very soon to try more from the menu :)

I have a pretty good imagination, so when my wife said “bbq on a potato” I had a good idea what I was getting. Good lord I was wrong. The flavor and execution knocked my socks off. I had the one with baked beans, so incredibly good that I ate the whole mega. Don’t get me started on the cornbread. Go to this place so they stay open forever.

Very rude employee. We were once loyal customers . This place was definitely the place to be but things have changed over the year. Instead of working with customers you have an employee blowing smoke behind the bar, A bad attitude when asking for an extra sauce. I get we all have bad days but the attitude was definitely very poor. We had reservations with a paid invoice she stated she couldn’t find it, she just got there so it isn’t her problem. We planned on celebrating a birthday so we reserved two tables which they tried to give us someone else’s table without knowing that person was a friend of ours who had the reservation as well. Bad experience for us and our friends as well. We also asked about the event on the flyer for the day and her response was …”and ok” and she just walked off. Sucks to have a bad experience at a place we once loved to go and as bad as we wanted to continue to support we just went to spend the day at Cajun eats were we received great customer service and a different atmosphere.

We opted to split the three filets of fish platter with fries because with tip it was about $30. It was a decent amount of food and the catfish tasted fresh and it was well executed. The tartar sauce was also pretty good On the other hand the fries were soggy and bad. The side of honey cornbread was also inedibly greasy.
The food took kind of a long time and the restaurant was blaring country music (not the good kind) very very loud. Like deafeningly loud like you would hear in a club. It was a weekday in the middle of the day and almost no one was there. Really unpleasant music!
My family & I couldn’t stop eating before I could take a picture. Great vibes, music was great, drinks were good, and the food was great. I loved the prices, and the wings are big. I’m from Columbus,OH and all are wings are big like this, and dare I say; TarterQue wings are better.

Didn't get to eat here because there website was impossible when we tried to order online for pickup. Spend half an hour making a huge order only to have it reject it in the end. We ended up ordering from Texas Roadhouse instead.

OMG! I rarely write a review so for me to do so at all says a lot. Got the Big Jock Jr size, the brisket mac and cheese, and the honey butter cornbread. Y'all. If that's the Jr, the Mega must weigh 10 lbs cuz this one must've been close to 5. Brisket, Sausage and 2 ribs. I was expecting diced up sausage, nope. sliced and the ribs were still on the bone! Good thing there was 2 of us and we still took half of the tater and most of the m&c home. Not sure why they call in cornbread though. That thing was damn near cake! So soft, sweet, moist, and delicious! I'd seen a catering van about a year ago so wondered about the place. finally got around to locating it about 9 months ago and was nearby today so dropped in. Basically $20/person for more than you can eat deliciousness! Damn straight I'll be back! I'd bet my teenager would struggle with eating the Junior lol! Definitely add it to your list of Must Check This Place Out!

I stopped three bites in to write this. This is the most amazing bbq tater place I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. If you don’t try this place you are missing out on pure amazingness.
Food is super tasty and environment is extremely welcoming! I went for karaoke. It gets a little crowded but that’s to be expected. Service still stays good!
