It's a hidden gem. The owners are very nice. I always get the fried chicken. Honestly wish more people would go but not many know about it. Who expects good fried chicken at a bakery!

Memorable hometown place to eat and get sweets ? ?. Ms. Irma was there to greet me and when i told her I had an appointment, she rushed back to the kitchen and super quick came out with my order. I took my sweets to go and they are so delicious ? Ordering a gift basket next week. Feels like a southern kitchen with a Mexican touch.

I used to go here in the early 90's. Loved the huge cheese Danish and cheese bars. Went recently in the afternoon and the cheese bars were still great.

It was just ok. Didn't feel very clean. Probably won't go back. Staff wasn't really around. Customers walk no one came out from the back so they left. Happened two while we ate.

Quite frankly I was not impressed with the food ! it tasted like everything had been prepared from packages and boxes mashed potatoes tasted like something you add water to gravy was definitely from a package .Meatloaf with seasoned with croutons for stuffing it just was a bad experience . My Best friend had the chicken fried steak and we literally peeled the crust off the chicken was paper thin it was all breaded. I would not recommend this place at all !!

My girlfriend bought and send me a plate of chicken fried chicken and it was awesome. She also sent me a 3 leches cake, big disappointment! There was about 1inch of cake and an inch and a half of icing... plus it was a lil dry.

ORDER YOUR COOKIES ELSEWHERE, IRMA DOES NOT BELIEVE IN TREATING HER CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT. Ordered my cookies two weeks in advance (June 24th)- Irma answered personally. She was nice and very helpful when it came to taking my order and then claimed that she required IMMEDIATE payment over the phone. I told her that would be fine, so long as she immediately sent me a receipt over to my e-mail, to which she agreed. I was NEVER able to get a hold of Irma again, nor get my receipt until TWO WEEKS LATER on the day that I picked the cookies up (July 9th). To begin with, the event that I needed the order for had been postponed. When my co-worker called on TUESDAY (July 6th) to ask if we could hold off on the order for a later date, Irma told her that the cookies had already been made and that she had a sign in her shop that read NO CREDIT CARD REFUNDS (something she neglected to tell me and something I wasn’t aware of because we ordered over the phone and had not set foot in the shop) so she could not postpone nor refund the order. Working in customer service is hard, but to be yelled at on the phone for NO REASON other than asking a question, is unacceptable, ESPECIALLY BY THE OWNER HERSELF. With no choice left, we went forward with the order. My cookies were to be picked up on a Friday (July 9th) – I had to call 31 TIMES on THURSDAY (July 8th) to find out what time they would be done as NO ONE had contacted me, despite the fact that I’d call and text (# was given to me by Irma to send photos of what I wanted on the cookies) numerous times the week prior to tell them I hadn’t gotten my receipt and that no one had confirmed via text whether or not they had received the photos I’d sent. Irma ended up calling me FRIDAY morning (July 8th) at 8 am to tell me that the cookies were not ready (although she had claimed that they had already been made on Tuesday, July 6th) and would not be ready until 1:00 pm. When I arrived to pick them up, the designs that I asked for were incorrect and the cookies themselves were smeared and messed up. When I asked Irma what could be done about the messed up cookies because I could not present them this way she said, “MAMITA, THEY ARE COOKIES – THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK LIKE.” In all honesty, I selected Irma’s for my order because she was the cheapest option compared to the other bakeries – and now I know why. TAKE MY ADVICE- PAY THE EXTRA $ AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Yes, you are going to spend extra at other places, but you are going to get better cookies, better service, and an overall better experience. NEVER AGAIN.

Man what can I say. Small, intimate, quaint place. Great food, they have some Mexican and American plates, also a bakery with awesome cookies and cakes. Also Very nice people, family oriented, a staple of Pharr, TX.

I grew up with Irma's cookie baskets! Recently returned back home to try a few of her baked goods and they did not disappoint. She has also delivered a few baskets to friends and family for me and they loved them! Great service and goodies here!
