The medium wing sauce is phenomenal. Home cooked feel for much of the food. Comforting and Fun at the same time. Really liked the personal feel with no electronic pad at the table, it made the service feel more homey. Great place to have lunch or dinner before a movie. My husband and I will be back. 😊”

“This is my “go-to” meal for family when time is limited. It’s always hot, fresh and tastes delicious! Just add a side and done! I’m not a big fan of the new kiosk though…its impersonal and I received the wrong order once and went home with it. I frequent the Flaming Bird and this has never happened with a human. I may add that the staff at the FB is always courteous and welcoming. Hello kiosks… goodbye hospitality.”

A gentleman there, the owner maybe, gave us a bowl of menudo as a sample to try. It was really good but too spicy for me. Come early if you want barbacoa, it gets packed.”

“We had a wonderful experience at 7 Mares. The food was absolutely delicious, everything was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded our expectations.

A special thank you to our waiter, Jose, who made our visit even better. He was incredibly courteous, attentive, and made excellent food recommendations. He checked on us throughout our meal and made sure we had everything we needed. His outstanding customer service truly made us feel welcomed.

We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend both the food and asking for Jose if you get the chance!”

It is worth a detour to visit" The place is beautifully decorated, the food was really good and for very fair prices, and those milkshakes were seriously delicious! They use REAL whipped cream on them, not your typical whipped can you get in other places. Now, you would think that the ambience and gorgeous thematic décor would be the highlight of this visit, but it was actually the staff. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I want to say she is the best waitress I've ever had. I visited August 13, 2026 around 3pm and she was the only waitress on duty that I noticed, wish I had gotten her name. Even my toddler loved her, she ran towards her to give her a hug, he doesn’t even do that with family... She was great with kids and she was great as a waitress as well, checking in on us regularly and also offering to take our photos. I live 6hrs away from this place but I already cannot wait to go back! I will make this a detour stop every time I go south of Texas for sure.”

“Visiting RGV and came here for my cousin birthday hosted on fathers day. It's a small quaint dive bar, which I prefer anyday over a larger sports bar or nightclub anyday. Even though its a small place, they easily accomodated our large and expanding guest. Service was quick and drinks were cold.”

I’ve only done takeout so far but their tacos and tamales are authentic and first rate. Get the corn tortillas with your tacos. They also send you home with really good sauces and a foil pouch with limes and quick-pickled, spicy red onions. This is quickly becoming a go-to.”

Additionally, the waiter never came to check if we needed anything, which would have improved our experience. I just left, I didn't want to be that one customer who's waiting and rushing the employee, but it does suck because I didn't get my morning coffee.”

“We stop at Taqueria La Herradura every single time we visit the Valley. I’m from Fort Worth, but my wife was born here and still has family in the area, so this has become one of our regular stops whenever we’re in town.
