Food was really good a bit pricey especially at lunch time. We did ask for more bread it was a dollar a piece never have heard of being charged extra for bread especially since the pieces are so small so glad they told us ahead of time we decided not to take more bread

Been looking for a good German, Bervarian style restaurant. Fit the bill... North West of Dallas it's a haul from Houston, but worth the trip. The umpa singer was great, the food was great, beer great. Had a good time... We will be back!

Some of the best German food I've ever had.
I would say its better than some of the stuff we used to get in Munich. If i didnt live 2 states away I would come here weekly.

I was passing
by through Plano and stopped for lunch.
I had a sausage platter with sauerkraut, potatoes and red cabbage.
It tasted just like I remember from Bavaria thirty years ago.
Delicious and with superior service.
I went on
my way on HWY 75 very happy.

If you’re in Plano, TX please make sure you stop by this restaurant. While traveling my boyfriend and I got a hotel nearby here that made us curious as to what the place was like. Inside it feels like if TGIF went German. Nostalgic German decorations line the shelves and they were clean. The waitress we had was friendly and helpful. Even though the kitchen was a little behind, we understood we were eating authentic German food that takes time. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here, we hope you do too.

Great German food with great service. Wide variety of German dishes. We had trout, rouladin, roasted ham shank, and a charcuterie board which was loaded with a variety of meats.
Loved their decor. Loads of German inspired pictures and items like beer steins throughout the restaurant.
Prices were on the high side, but fair considering they serve food you will not find at your typical restaurant.

Food portions just like in Germany—High quality. I’m Tri National with Poland and Luxembourg. I was looking for comfort food that felt like home. Felt like home. There’s a Bavarian Restaurant very similar to this one in Portland, Oregon. I was there couple weeks ago. The cooks here and there—the taste and the texture—very close in standards.

Very good family run restaurant. Food is fantastic and the owners really care. I struggle with all the different beers so I let my server pick. Highly recommended.

We made a reservation four days in advance for a special 70th birthday celebration, confirmed all the details, and even called an hour before to reconfirm our 6pm reservation. Despite all that, we weren’t seated until 6:35pm. Our server didn’t arrive until 7pm, and food wasn’t served until nearly 7:50pm. We had chosen this restaurant hoping for a memorable evening, but instead were placed in a back room with no music and an awkward atmosphere. One of our guests has a medical condition that prevents them from standing for long periods, and the delay in seating was not only inconsiderate—it was unsafe. Our mother had a special medical release for this birthday outing, and we drove over 30 minutes to be there. We even arrived early to set up table decorations, which the staff couldn't accommodate. The service was painfully slow, water glasses went unfilled, and no one offered any kind of apology or discount for the inconvenience. The bathroom was far from our table, adding another layer of discomfort for our elderly guests. Had we been seated on time, we would have gladly spent more—but the entire experience felt like an afterthought to the staff. This was supposed to be a joyful celebration. Instead, it felt like we were forgotten. I wouldn’t recommend this place for any special occasion—or any occasion at all.
Well, after going to Bavarian Grill for decades, I'm sad to report that my last visit on 8/23/25 was less than the usual stellar experience I have come to expect. The service today both by the host and my initial server at the bar was poor. I say initial server because before my food arrived, my initial server disappeared without explanation (this was at 4pm just after they opened). I asked another bar server about her absence and I told told she went on break. That's all fine and well, but I think she should have been considerate enough to let us knowbefore leaving. One thing to know about dining at the bar is that there is no complementary bread served, even if you order a full meal. You do ge dry mini pretzles. Had to host who seated me(and recommended the bar) told me that, I would have declined for a table in the regular dining area. I will say that the food tonight was as good as always and the bar servers who filled in for my initial server were friendly. I mentioned my issue to the host that seated after my dinner, but he saw no issue and could really careless.
