There aren't a lot of Captain D's restaurants in DFW, so getting to one is a 30 min - 1 hour drive.
That being said, whenever I come to my nearest one (the Plano location) the food is always fresh, hot, and delicious! They also give you coupons with every order which I absolutely love!
It's always pretty quiet and I never see a lot of traffic here, so that makes the quality of the food even more appreciated, in my opinion. They do NOT slack off here. It's always consistent, line or no line.
I highly recommend this location and there's a park nearby that you can sit and eat at after you order. :)

This place has nice owner and employees and I always get the lemon pepper salmon and shrimp skewer, & veggies are usually great. ** Tonight, though, I will add… the green beans were quite too salty for my liking, so I couldn’t eat but a couple of small bites. They should scale back THE SALT for the beans. Sometimes, also……. the coleslaw is a little… strange…. But most of the time, it’s good.

Wait time was long and food was okay. I think I prefer LJS in terms of flavor but the service here was so much better. The fish is good, the shrimp is no different from grocery store frozen food aisle shrimp, but the hushpuppies were too way too dense and a terrible texture.

The food and service were ok. I spent $18 for a platter , but I got full. Everything was fresh, so I give them that.. The only reason I would give them 3 stars is because they put a coupon sheet in my bag, with expired coupons from May. Either they will honor the coupons or I guess they thought it would make me come back, then tell me they are expired and hope since I drove all the way over that I would stay and order??

I have been going to Captain D's for years ( since the 1980s) and i just left there, brought the food home and the fish tastes really funny... something is definitely wrong with it.... this is not the same fish I've always had..I can't eat it... almost want to have it tested and compare to a different location... and it's the only location I know of this stingy with the condiments, charging for more than two per entree. I'm definitely not coming back.
