My experience on a Saturday afternoon was quite average. I visited for a late lunch, and while it was slow when I arrived, the service was also sluggish. It took 40 minutes for my food to arrive.
I ordered char-grilled oysters, which were just okay, mainly because the oysters were very small. The flavor was also unremarkable. The catfish I had was not fresh and had a distinctly fishy taste. However, the fried shrimp were good, and I would recommend them. The fried oysters were tiny and seemed to have no seasoning on the breading, which was disappointing.
The service was basic but acceptable. I would consider giving this place a second chance because the food does have potential.

Came here for my Godmothers Birthday and the experience was pretty middle of the road. Food & presentation needs MAJOR work. Plates coming out that look like they just threw things on top of one another and sent it out. The Gumbo was salty, the crabcakes were not worth the price, the flounder special was extremely over seasoned and I’ve never thought I’d say something was OVER seasoned (the caramelized onion potatoes were great & the spinach was just sautéed spinach — nothing special). The Espresso Martini was strong, don’t expect anything with cream, it’s a pretty traditional Espresso Martini. I probably wouldn’t come here again unless it was during Happy Hour (3-6pm everyday)

Used for lunch. The store was comfortable and had a good atmosphere. If it's not winter, the terrace seats look comfortable.
The oyster nachos were a little spicy and delicious, just the first time I tasted them. Oyster fries are alive.
Crab bisque has a slightly sour taste. When I said I would like to share, I was surprised to find that instead of a small bowl, I was offered two small plates and two spoons.
Delicious chicken and shrimp penne with cream sauce. However, the taste is quite strong. I was surprised at how large the amount was. Even though I only ordered one serving, I was served on two plates, so I asked and was told that they would split the servings for me. I couldn't even finish half of it and had some left over.
Kid-friendliness: I was very grateful that high chairs were available and the seats could be adjusted flexibly.

Amazing service and great oysters at happy hour. The problem is a lot of the dishes are very hit or miss. When it hits, it hits. But some of them are you're spending almost $30 and then it's just kind of bland and mild. The portion sizes between the dishes also very wildly. The tacos and fish and chips though are very safe bets. If you're willing to experiment, it's quite a fun place.

I recently dined with a friend at Half Shells for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was absolutely beautiful that day so there were customers dining indoors and outdoors. The patio is small to medium in size and has a great view of the shopping plaza. The bar area was large and well stocked. Our server (Trina) did a great job explaining different menu items and made good recommendations. She was friendly and attentive, and handled our table well. Since this was our first visit, we were able to sample one of their most popular items - fried oysters. In addition, we had crab queso for appetizers. For entrees, we ordered the crab cake and shrimp and grits with a cup of soup. The food was ok. I’ve had better seafood elsewhere, but overall we enjoyed the experience.
Parking: You can occasionally find a spot on the street very close to the restaurant. It depends on time of day. Otherwise, you will have to utilize the parking garage and walk.
I went inside the restaurant. (Mind you I’m currently 7 months pregnant). I asked to use the bathroom before I was seated. One waiter started to show me where the bathroom was as another waiter saw her directing me to the bathroom she stopped her and told me I could go somewhere else to go to the bathroom. I thought this was extremely rude as a pregnant woman that just wanted to be able to use the bathroom before 8 dined in. Maybe she thought I wasn’t eating there but regardless It wasn’t a problem with me going before untill the other woman made it an issue. After this I was so displeased with the customer service I left I didn’t want to dine there and I’ll never return
