Great place and Good food .. Unfortunately they are moving to new location ..
The service is too bad and I don’t think they can improve on that any time soon. I would recommend people planning to go here to order 1-2 hours in advance for dining. Such bad was their service
Our favorite Indian restaurant in the Allen-Plano-Frisco area. We tried many Indian places since we moved here, but none satisfied our "sophisticated" palate as Kesari did.Their dosas and the sauces that they come with are very good.Their mango lassi is very delicious.
Vegetarian options: As a South Indian place, this is very vegetarian friendly. It has many vegetarian options, as well as some meat options too (goat, chicken and lamb).
Kid-friendliness: While there is no kids menu, there are many children sized (and friendly) options on the regular menu.
Parking: Plenty of parking spaces in front.
Delicious Kerala food. We went there on a Saturday for lunch and the food tasted so good. Even the portion sizes are good. We got Porotta and beef, kappa and meen curry, butter chicken, chilly chicken and chicken 65 biriyani. Everything was very flavorful and tasted like home cooked meals. Can’t wait to eat from here soon.
We went here on a Saturday at around 1.30. Restaurant was pretty much empty except folks coming in to pickup orders. We ordered a Gopi Manchurian- a cauliflower based appetizer(it’s not a typo it is Gopi), Masala dosa and poori masala! The Manchurian was delicious- hot and crispy with a tasty sauce. The dosa was quite nice - good sambar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney with it. However the potato curry in the masala dosa and the poori masala was the same and it was not great. Lacked flavor a bit. The pooris were nice and fluffy but more like bhature. Overall we liked the food. One extra star for the very friendly and hospitable staff!
We loved dine - in at Kesari restaurant, we ordered many dishes, and out of all Thalassery style Kalyana biryani and Chettinadu fish curry were scrumptious. Excellent service and kids friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Good food Good service reasonable prices. We were shopping for groceries in the neighborhood. We googled and found this restaurant. The owner Mr Matthew took the orders and food came very quickly. It’s a no nonsense, simple place with very decent South Indian food. Great Dosa and Sambhar was much better than many South Indian places. We ordered some more food to take home. Wish they had not rolled up Parottas tightly. It was hard for me to heat up and separate but I managed. Will visit again
It was amazing and delicious food. I tried so many indian food in different locations but this one is the one I like the most . Their service is very friendly and good. Strongly recommend for anyone looking for Indian food . This place is the place you should give it a try. Their non veg thali is outstanding.. yummy
I went to Kesari for the first time and I really, really enjoyed the whole experience. The food came out hot, it was freshly made, and tasted awesome. The chef actually comes and talks to you. Overall a great experience. I will definitely go back and take family and friends.

Dahi vada (picture) is a must try here. We had catered food for our wedding party from Kesari and keep visiting since then. We’ve always loved their fresh idli-vada and dosa. The coconut chutney and sambar have a very home-made taste which is a huge plus! Contrary to other reviews, the owner is actually very friendly and prompt with service.
Great, simple, no-frills South Indian place serving home style, healthy food. The food was not at all oily. The Chole Batura for example was so flaky and not at oily at all. Most of the food we ordered were clean tasting and had no excess oil. We ordered Poori masal (Aloo/potato Bhaji), Chole Batura, Upma/Rava Kichdi w veggies, Vada plate, Mango lassi & Masala buttermilk( Chaas). Below are the things to avoid.Everything was good except the Vada. Avoid it. It was cold, a bit hard and lacked flavor. Avoid the Masala buttermilk too, it a bit salty and super spicy!
Went to Kesari for dinner and everything we tried was delicious!! The onion rava masala dosa was amazing, highly recommend this restaurant. Great management and very professional staff. Overall, amazing experience and would come back again
Place was real delish and authentic. Waiter and staff were awesome and down to earth will def be back!
This place isn't easy to find on searches for Indian food, but if you do, you're in luck! Service and food were fantastic. We ordered several dishes- butter dosa, Mysore dosa, Mysore masala dosa, idli, vada, parotta with kurma, and finished with kesari bath. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was delicious! The dosas were crisp and made with enough butter, reminiscent of the street style/ darshini style of dosa in India- probably the best dosa I've had in the US. Vada was crisp and tasty. Parotta was flaky and delicious and the kurma was well prepared and went well with the parotta. The idlis were light and fluffy as idlis should be. The sambar and chutneys were fantastic. Rasam was also delicious. We finished with some kesari bath. It was well made and wasn't exceedingly sweet. It was a perfect finish to the meal.Service was really good as well. Staff was courteous and attentive. The only negative would be the small dining space and lack of decor. This can be ignored when the food and service is so good. I hope they continue to maintain this level of quality as I look forward to returning.
