Love this Kona! Keep it clean and good service is key - also please keep prices reasonable.
Waited over an hour after getting our order in, only one sushi roll came out of the kitchen and it wasn't that great - Kura is better. No real apology from the manager as we paid up for what we did get so we could leave: $37 for a rainbow roll and a soda (not including gratuity). Will never return.
I like to share feedback on today's Mother's Day brunch at Kona Grill, We had been to STK for my birthday and loved it hence we wanted to try another one group restaurant. We had a reservation at 12:45 but waited over 30 minutes to be seated, even though the dining area wasn't full. The two hosts at the front seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, flipping through a paper list while guests stood around frustrated. It was clear there was no effective system in place. When we were finally seated at 1:20 PM, we were told brunch service and bottomless mimosas were over — despite both being prominently advertised. We were then informed that even à la carte mimosas were no longer available starting 2 pm as they had run out......It felt like poor planning and mismanagement all around. To make matters worse, my father was served a salad with visible fungus. While it was quietly replaced, no one acknowledged how serious that was — especially considering his age and health. We spent $227 + on this meal, and the experience didn't come close to matching that value. Frankly, we've had better service, food, and organization at smaller, locally owned restaurants — places without the brand or resources of The ONE Group. This was meant to be a special occasion, and instead it was filled with delays, confusion, and food safety concerns. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.
Took my family here for Mother's Day lunch. Despite having a reservation, we were told we'd have to wait for 15-20 minutes after waiting at the hostess stand for 5 minutes just to be acknowledged. While waiting, the hostess yelled out that they were no longer serving their Mother's Day brunch menu, and only their dinner menu which is stupid expensive. Having 3 kids in the party, they were thrilled to look at the kids menu, except nope you weren't allowed to have anything off the kids menu except pizza. The wait staff was slow, but our waitress was friendly. If my mom hadn't been there, we would have walked out. Will not be going back.
Didn't matter that you had reservation. Just took names as everyone showed up regardless of your reservation time. Waitress rarely checked on us and had to wait for drink refills or items needed when food was brought to table. Food was good but for the price of it it should've have been better.
This was the most disappointing experience. Made the reservation for 12:15 because they advertised a special brunch menu for Mother's Day. We arrived 10 min late and our table wasn't ready. We were told it'd be another 15 minutes. Other parties were beginning to leave because their reservation times were not honored and respected. We had heard that parties without reservations were being prioritized and sat. Then, at 12:40, they announced that they were out of brunch menu items which was the WHOLE reason we chose to dine here. They were clearly not prepared, understaffed and overwhelmed. Just like others, we ended up leaving to go to another restaurant. I am very disappointed in their inability to manage their reservations and their terrible judgement to seat parties without reservations. Furthermore, their lack of communication and indifference for causing us to wait so long for our table was very unprofessional. They should have communicated to us when we checked in their issues of being understaffed and behind on reservations. They really should have owned up to the fact that they wouldn't be able to accommodate the crowd and gave us a choice earlier to leave.
Made a reservation for 12:15 on Mother's Day. When we arrived they told us 15-30 minute wait even with our reservation. After waiting 30 minutes there were still 7 parties ahead of us and they had run out of their brunch items which was the reason we went there. We left and went somewhere else. Later I got an email from open table asking why I didn't honor my reservation. Wow! Will probably never go to this restaurant again. Very poorly managed.
Had booked a Mother's Day brunch for the family. Waited for 15 min despite reservation then another 10 mins for server to show up. Then we were told they were “out” of brunch menu within 30 mins of opening.
We went for Mother's Day for brunch. It took 25 mins to check in and be seated (no exaggeration). They had to go back and forth to get the table ready — kinda wild considering they had to know it would be busy. I'd expect tables to be prepared before opening but what do I know. When we sat down, we waited another 10-15 mins and never got greeted, so we left and ate somewhere else. It was a very poor experience. For the menu prices, I expected better and likely will not return.
I took my wife here for Mother's Day. They boast they were going to have Mother's Day brunch so I purchased that package. The pancakes were not fresh. The pastries look like something you will get out of a vending machine. The sausage and bacon didn't taste good. The chicken fried steak gravy and biscuits were not worth the time it would take to cut and eat the dry food. Also, we ordered mimosas to celebrate Mother's Day, but the mimosas came in a regular glass instead of a Champlain flute. All in all, I will never come here for any kind of breakfast, especially for Mother's Day.

Mothers Day Brunch was a major letdown today. Food was a mix cold eggs, cold coffee, cold pancakes, burnt croissants, raw bacon, overcooked chicken fried steaks which looked like more like ribs. Waiter was okay and had kitchen manager come out who, with his filthy clothing, stated he made the food fresh this morning and would see what he could do, while our reservation was for 10:30am. This never occurred so we let the waiter know we were leaving and he rudely just pointed to a man in a suit pushing a cart busing tables. This was in fact the manager and I told him the whys of our leaving. He apologized which was kind yet could tell of the restaurants fell with our party at least. We even witnessed the table besides ours complaining also about their food. Hopefully quick improvements will be made especially for events as Mother's Day. Fortunate we were able to find another local restaurant to fit us in after allowing us to still fulfill Mother's Day Brunch plans with two deserving Mom's.
We were excited to come back after about a year, but unfortunately the experience didn't meet our usual expectations. Some of the items we've loved in the past tasted different, and the overall quality of the food seemed to have gone down. Portion sizes were noticeably smaller, which I understand given the economy, but it was still a bit disappointing. Our server was very sweet, but not very attentive — they were hardly around during our meal. Hoping this was just an off night, because Kona Grill has always been a favorite.
Took my Wife for our Anniversary. The food was too expensive for the portion and how it was prepared. The cost of the dishes is not a 4 star restaurant. The Ribeye was $47, whicg was boiled and not grilled, had no flavor! It only came with plain not seasoned potatoes. The $37 Salmon tasted good, but it was only maybe 5 to 6oz size. It came with a mistake, chicken fried rice. Both dishes are not worth the price for the meals we had. We could have gone to a betted steak house for the price. Wife says we will not be back!
Signed up for Easter Brunch. Weird! Sat down and was handed a sheet of paper with 8 or 10 entrees on it from scrambled eggs to chicken fried steak? We figured we were supposed to pick an entree so we decided and waited for the waitress to come back for us to order. Instead, she shows up with a bunch of plates of EVERY item on that menu! This was a little shocking as we had no interest in several of the items on the list. The scrambled eggs were overcooked, the bacon was undercooked and just about everything was cold to barely warm. All this for $ 45.00 each! Never again!
Overall, our experience was great. Food was good and service exceptional. I do think the price was pretty steep for what we ate - that would be my only “complaint”. 9/10, would recommend.
