Absolutely worth the stop! Lockhart Smokehouse delivered amazing burnt ends—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were just as impressive and full of Southern comfort. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Lockhart. Where to begin...

The food is not good. It was hot, but just odd. The ribs were fatty and the rub tasted like something you would use on beef. The chicken was that weird, steroid-looking chicken that had to be left in the smoker too long because it was so big. The leg was SOOOOO dry. Like meat sandpaper.

Going back to the ribs, you could have scraped the rub off and used it as a pate for the bread. That's how thick it was.

Here's the thing: if I wanted quick BBQ, and it was late, and a regular grocery store was the only thing open with BBQ options (not HEB, the True Texas BBQ is good!) then this quality would be OK. However, it's a restaurant and they were charging real BBQ prices and it just sucked (in my opinion).

The staff was nice and the restaurant look was great, but you come to a BBQ restaurant for the food and it wasn't up to snuff.

Terrible bbq sauce. Tastes like straight vinegar. That is not TEXAS STYLE.

I had 1/4 lb of brisket, sausage link, baked beans and mac and cheese. Brisket and link seasoned beautifully, great balance of smoke and spice, beans were great, really spicy but nice heat, mac and cheese to be admired, kids would love it.......like a really cheesy Kraft box style. Overall good experience coming from the Carolina's. No combo meals or sampler platters all ala cart. Really nice atmosphere, nice local craft beers and quick friendly srrvice......most of all when I stepped out the car a smelled that awesome hardwood smokyness.

If you like BBQ on butcher paper then it's great. It is a little messy.

An old-school low key Texas BBQ place. All the food is excellent, my favorite place for brisket.

This was the absolute worst BBQ I have ever had. The ribs were tough and chewy. Turkey was cold with no flavor or smoke. The jalepeno popper I picked up to eat it all fell apart. We were excited to eat BBQ on the 4th to celebrate but left really upset. The food was not fresh could tell was old and not good at all.

Omg everything is so freaking GOOD!!! Brisket is so juicy and tender. The Mac and garlic Green beans can’t be beat honestly. Coming all the way from Baltimore and they surely didn’t disappoint. Not to mention the service is A1!!!!! Came 6/26

Visiting from out of town, wanted some Texas BBQ. As soon as we walked in, we were happily greeted, and the customer service was on point and it never stopped… Excellent! Food was delectable, and the ambience was great. Definitely recommend… But go early, it fills up quick.
