I visited The Port Peri Peri during Ramadan for iftar, expecting a proper halal dining experience, but I was really disappointed. The wait for food was at least 20 minutes, which was frustrating, especially when you’re waiting to open your fast. To make matters worse, when I asked for dates to break my fast, they said they didn’t have any. As a Muslim establishment during Ramadan, this was shocking—providing dates is a basic expectation.
Additionally, despite being a dine-in restaurant, they provided plastic cutlery, which made the experience feel quite cheap. I expected proper utensils, especially for an in-house meal. The food itself was okay, but it seemed like an attempt to copy Nando’s without quite measuring up. There also weren’t enough sauces available, and many people had to wait to open their fast.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a comfortable and accommodating iftar experience.
45 mins of waiting in an empty restaurant and still needing to remind the workers for dry, mid, chicken

Service is really good.
Their original sauce is really nice.
We did not know about the friesthat weree spicy, my kids don't eat spicy as well. Once we got it, we requested for the one without spice, and they just offered for free.

I ordered the 1/4 chicken. It was very chewy and rubbery (but not dry though) so ended up just having a couple bites, couldn't eat any more. The rice was ok, sauce was good. Overall disappointed as it was the worst chicken I've had in some time.
Ordered lunch bowl of chicken and rice. Food was not as great as this place had reviews on it. Chicken was dry and not cooked very well.

I love Port of Peri Peri, and while searching for halal food for a family dinner with friends, I came across their Plano location and decided to host our gathering there. As always, the food was great, but the biggest disappointment was the disposable cutlery. It was quite embarrassing that anyone trying to cut their chicken ended up with a broken spoon or fork.
What started as a frustrating experience turned into a shared joke, as one person after another faced the same issue and could not enjoy our meal. It was truly disappointing for a dine-in experience. This restaurant should consider providing proper stainless steel cutlery so customers can fully enjoy their meals.
