UPDATE Feb 2026: Good to be back. Needed fast food place close to home to get other errands done after lunch. New menu board and new items to enjoy. Like a number of friends/family there for Sat lunch. We got the usual two tacos each but they seemed to have more stuff in them. Next time one taco apiece and split side dish. New table tops as well. UPDATE Sep 2025: Great to be back again. Since last review we have been several times just didn't write up anything. Lots of customers today very busy place. Rusty has new menu items so be sure to check it out. UPDATE Jul 2023: Finally we returned for lunch. SHE who cashes my retirement check ate here recently just not both of us same time. Good weekend lunch crowd mostly inside although a few braved the heat for the patio. I posted new interior photos. UPDATE Sep 2021. Back for an overdue refill. There are lots of taco places in Collin county and this is one of the better ones. Plenty of weekday customers during our visit especially take-out. We first came here in 2012 so kudos to them to survive so long. Especially during virus crises. UPDATE May 2020. OooRah! They are open for inside/outside dinning. They are taking care of Wuhan virus with limited seating inside. See photos. Most customers were using the take out service. Our food was ready in short order to dine in. Probably won't see any new travel photos on bragging wall for awhile. Second visit Apr 2014. Very busy and loud due to families stopping to/from weekend sports activities. Order taken and provided very promptly. Main items are tacos so you might need to add chips/dip as well. Table crowded due number of people and tables/stools getting in way to sit down. Staff cleaned up tables quickly. Too cold and windy to sit outside. Parking right outside in private lot although awkward to get in/out with lots of other customers parking as well. Consider parking a few doors down. See photos of lunch hour. UPDATE May 2015. Added new photos. Staff hustles a lot in the kitchen to get your order out and keep the tables clean. Added 4th star to review because they've kept their standards up from last year. UPDATED May 2017. Finally got back since changed name to R Taco. Too much competition for share of our stomachs in Collin county. Week day lunch with lots of customers. Pleasant weather with customers outside. Staff was working fast and getting out orders quickly. Added 5th star.
One of my favorite restaurants. Lots of favorites here ! The salsa is made in house from scratch (at least I’ve seen the pots w tomatillos cooking!). This is a brisket egg and cheese on flour.

One of my favorite places. Love their shrimp tacos and the queso 😋 breakfast burritos served all day. Order 2 togo for the next day. Its close to the Heritage softball fields. Just wish they were open a little later especially in the summer week days.

I enjoyed the queso, the tacos, but I especially LOVED the margaritas. ;) I did not get the name of the gentleman who made them that night, but these drinks are strong and delicious. Plus the queso is scrumptious.

This is the WORST Mexican place I have EVER been to. When first came in I looked at the menu it was the most ABSURD I have ever seen. 20+ varieties if tacos but not one single burrito (except for a breakfast burrito). When I finally chose what I ordered i came to many table and the seats were insanely uncomfortable. THEY WERE MADE OF RUSTED STEEL. there were also picture on the walk bragging about the trios they get to take with the mney you give them with these stupid, overpriced tacos. never going back, terrible don't reccomend.

This was my first time eating here. After Christmas leftovers for two days I needed something different. Rusty taco was close to the house and the reviews looked good. I ordered the black bean taco bowl and received enough for at least three people if not more! The guacamole is excellent and I’m very picky about my guac. The green salsa is also good. My only complaint would be that they did not put all of the ingredients for their bowl on their website. I was not aware that the bowl would have sesame seeds on it or I would’ve had them removed. Thankfully, I am not allergic to them. I am just supposed to limit how many I can have. Other than that it was quick, relatively inexpensive, there was plenty of food and it was good.

I love Rusty Taco!! I’ve been coming here since high school and it always hits the spot!! The service remains top tier and the food is excellent. I come with a friend and we always split queso and a dessert taco afterwards

Went in this morning there was only two guest sitting at one table went up to the counter. Waited about 4 to 5 minutes nobody greeted me and nobody asked what I would like…. two employees walked by looked at me didn’t say anything. I turned around and walked away. Just started working across the road and I was hoping to buy my staff a bunch of tacos in the morning and hopefully looking to make this my regular spot to pick them up breakfast however that will not be the case since I was ignored, I turned around and walked out The door… will not be coming back I guess
