We finally decried to try this Japanese restaurant after passing by for many years. Great food and great hospitality from the owner Esther. We were very pleased with the attentiveness of the restaurant. We love the daily lunch menu.
Great sushi and I loved my Tonkatsu with curry. We were also amazed by the selection of bento boxes.
My rating as 5 is very satisfied

We drove all the way from Aubrey just to try Sushi Sakana in Plano, and wow—what an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff made the experience unforgettable. Every single team member radiates genuine warmth, happiness, and pride in what they do. It’s rare to feel that welcomed, and it truly set the tone for the whole meal. We started with the cucumber salad and the crab rangoon—both fresh, delicious, and perfectly prepared. For our main dish, we ordered the bulgogi, which came with salad, soup, and two sides. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. We also enjoyed a real crab California roll and a spicy shrimp tempura roll, both of which were outstanding. The food is amazing, the ambiance is cozy and quaint, and the service is top-tier. Sushi Sakana is absolutely worth the trip. Highly recommend!

It is my first time here and I am very impressed by the food and service. I ordered the Geisha roll, Ahi Tower (sub for salmon), Gyudon, and miso soup. They even had fresh wasabi if you ask. They even gave me a braised hamachi kama on the house. I definitely recommend this place.
