We visited Toulouse Café and Bar in Plano for Valentine’s dinner, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing.

One of the first things we noticed was the seating. The chairs were quite uncomfortable, which made it difficult to relax and fully enjoy the evening something we’ve rarely experienced at a restaurant.

The only highlight of the night was our server. They were kind, friendly, attentive, and truly the one positive part of our visit.

The food, however, was underwhelming. We ordered the lobster tacos, and they were extremely small almost bite-sized. While we understand that French fine dining often features smaller portions, the issue wasn’t the size but the flavor. The dish lacked seasoning and depth, and overall tasted bland. For a special occasion dinner, we expected much more.

Overall, based on this experience, we would not recommend it.

As for the food, it was underwhelming. We ordered the lobster tacos, and they were literally bite sized. I understand this is French fine dining and portions may be smaller, but the issue was not the size. It was the lack of flavor. The food was simply tasteless and needed much more seasoning and depth. For a special occasion dinner, we expected so much more.

Overall, I would not recommend.

Everything was absolutely delicious, with amazing service! My husband loved the Steak Frites & I got the Duck Confit. Both were juicy & very flavorful! Dessert was the Apple Tarte Tatin which ended the meal perfectly! We'll definitely be back! 🥰

Beautiful place, we went for brunch. Had quiche, lobster roll and French toast. Everything was good but not seasoned well. Lots of buttery tastes that made the meals heavy after eating. Excellent valet service.

Fantastic change of pace. Great food, drinks, music (sometimes live), service. Excellent atmosphere, even patio indoor-outdoor seating option. Nicer, higher end setting in great walkable area.

My daughter and her boyfriend have been there several times. They are 18 & 20 and though they are beginning their fine dining experience together I feel so disappointed for them. I have been a fan of Toulouse’s multiple locations and have dined here more times than I can count.

It was their one year anniversary and they were really looking forward to their reservation tonight amid freezing rain and sleet. The reservation was booked early and the hostess sat them at a plastic colored table and stated they chose the table which is absolutely not true.

They requested the smoked salmon appetizer which apparently is no longer on the menu and in its place brought a single piece of grilled salmon.

I called and spoke to the manager Antonio and thought he would stop by the table and speak with them but to my disappointment he didn’t.
No sparklers or happy anniversary on the plate though it was written in reservation notes and the waitress asked them if it was a special occasion.

So disappointed with the Toulouse’s…😕

We hosted a corporate dinner here for about 40 people, and unfortunately this was our second similar experience with the same issues. Our reservation started at 6:30 pm, but entrées did not arrive until close to 8:00 pm, and much of the food came out cold and underwhelming. I ordered off the regular menu this time, hoping it would help but it did not.

Service was slow, and when I politely asked about timing, the response from our server was unnecessarily snarky. Not a single person at our table finished their main course, not because they were full but because the food simply was not good. Drink service was attentive, but that was the only bright spot.

This may be fine for a small dinner but based on repeated experiences, I would strongly recommend against hosting group or corporate events here.

We had a great experience celebrating my mom’s birthday. The service was top notch, and our server Andy was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. He really helped make the celebration feel special. The whole atmosphere was warm and enjoyable. We’ll absolutely be back! Thank you!

Amazing experience. We sat at the bar. Ordered the ahi tuna tower which was surprisingly filling. Also the baguette and butter is so soft and beautifully baked. For dinner we split the salmon which was good. The potatoes are nothing special. The French wine selection could be improved. I was not a super fan of the red selection.

We went to Toulouse Café and Bar to celebrate my mom’s birthday 🎉🎂, and it was such a great experience ✨. Our server, Andy, was incredibly kind and attentive 😊, and his recommendations were amazing 🍽️ — everything he suggested was delicious 😋. He really helped make the celebration feel special 💖. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back 🔁👏.
