After researching online for the best Happy Hours in Fort Worth, we decided to go to WXYZ Bar for drinks and dinner before a concert at Dickies Arena. The website showed that they have daily Happy Hour from 4-7pm (including weekends), which lists $3 beer, $4 wine, $4 cocktails and $5 flatbreads. This is the reason we came. When we arrived, the bartender looked confused when we mentioned the advertised Happy Hour and said that none of the prices listed on the website (which we showed her) were current or correct. (She took a photo of the prices displayed on their website so she could bring it up with Management.) The actual "Happy Hour" prices were $8 Becker Texas wine, $4 beer and 1/2 off of cocktails. Flatbreads were $6 and they also offered $6 quesadillas (which we did not order). We only stayed because we were short on time and also had already parked in a garage a couple of blocks away. The bar is nice inside but not exactly the "vibe" that was advertised. It was full of kids obviously staying in the hotel who were unsupervised, loud and rowdy and playing (abusing) the pool table right next to us. There was no music at all, not even the radio playing on speakers. It's very close/open to the hotel lobby with a lot of traffic.
We tried to make the best of our pre-concert happy hour and ordered drinks and $3 chips and salsa (which also came with guacamole). The salsa was just boring bland picante sauce poured from the jar. No flavor or spice at all. (This is Texas, right?) The guac was decent, but no kick to it at all and barely any spice or flavor. But it was only $3, so can't really complain much. The service was lacking. The only time anyone visited our table was to deliver food, with barely a word. Didn't even offer napkins or ask if we needed anything else. We had to walk back up to the bar to order more drinks and food. The only good thing was the flatbreads. We each ordered the pepperoni, and it was absolutely delicious.
We obviously won't be back. Wanted to leave a review for anyone like us who is looking for a fun vibe and good Happy Hour prices. This is probably not the place.
