Similar to The Oasis, you're paying for the Lake Travis view, not Michelin star fare. However, we knew that going in and found the food comparable to an upper scale bar or nightclub menu. The blackened salmon was not over or undercooked (although served on a bed of rice would have been a little nicer than on a bed of fries), and the bang bang shrimp was interesting - good flavor. We'll return again the next time we're on the lake.

Came here for lunch. Food was excellent. We had everything from chicken tenders to ceviche and everyone was happy. Margaritas were on point. It was off season still when we were there so I cannot comment on the service when the place is packed, but our service was great. I’d definitely be back. Atmosphere was great. The stairs to access the restaurant from the parking lot aren’t for the faint of heart.

The fried catfish was really good, served with a yummy tartar sauce and delicious french fries, also got to taste the salmon- so good!!!The ceviche was not what I’m used to, it was okay. It was basically just fish and tomatoes. We did eat it all tho, so it was edible.Had 2 Paloma’s, tasty but didn’t seem to have much alcohol.I will warn you, I was with an older person (76 yo) and he did comment on the walk down. It’s very inclined, there are stairs. The food is worth it if you can walk up and walk down. There was a stage and looked like there might be live music. We visited on a Thursday night.

Captain Pete's Boathouse offers a delightful culinary voyage with a diverse menu featuring fresh seafood and savory delights. The nautical-themed ambiance adds a charming touch, making it a great spot for those seeking a maritime dining experience.

I love this place. It hurts to leave a negative review, BUT, really!? How do you screw up a hot dog? I know, you boil the sucker and serve it on an old bun. Sad. This place has so much potential, but refuses to make the trip worthwhile. Time and time again, the food sucks! Beer in a can or do you prefer a PLASTIC cup!? Disposable everything. Welcome to the dark ages.

We came here for gas but ended up staying a while..... this place is owned/managed by the absolute nicest, hardest working people on the planet. Great food, good vibes, reasonably priced drinks and super nice folks! We can't wait to come back.

Capt Pete's is a boathouse restaurant at Point Venture on Lake Travis. They have a fairly large indoor and outdoor seating area and are open from 11am to 10pm daily. Menu is that of a typical casual restaurant with signature fried catfish and shrimp baskets, burgers, nachos and other American classics. Had lunch here recently and found their fried catfish to be decent. It was a really thin fillet like a schnitzel but it tasted ok. Fries served were heavily seasoned and tasted fine as well. Service was friendly and timely. Enjoyed feeding the giant catfish and carp beside Capt Pete's as much as eating lunch here. That was fun!

Love this place. I realize that at this time the walk down/up is a little hard, but still worth it. Love the grilled salmon salad, the service, and of course the ambiance.
