I used to love this place! Saw Joe King Carasco live there once and had a blast! Unfortunately, Woody's is out of busines so the Back Porch is no longer open.
This is permanently closed as of Dec 2021.
This place is AWESOME...vibrant and alive. our bar server SAM is amazingly good and very attentive!
We were there at 7:00 enjoying the band. Took our dog out to pee at 9:00. Tried walking back into the establishment and they kicked us out! Said no dogs after 8:00. Off season and hardly anyone there. So rude, he didn’t even let us finish our drink. Will NEVER go back.
Great place to hangout, and enjoy the beauty. Good vibe.
One of the best neighborhood bars around. Awesome bartenders. Great live music. Highly recommend going to this place.
Great band, hard working bar tenders. Great atmosphere
Fun little bar, friendly staff, and the best little food place next door. Only a window to order and take to the bar. Highly, highly recommend black drum nachos!! They were amazing. Burgers also 4+ in rating. A must do!!
My friend and I stopped in to get nachos next door and tried to sit down and get a drink at Back Porch. The older lady working the bar was hostile off the bat to us, for seemingly no reason. First we asked if they had a cocktail menu, and she snapped at us saying that they are a simple palapa bar and what you see on the shelf is what you get. Okayyyyy….. Fair enough I guess…. Then she saw that I had a reusable Nalgene water bottle with water in it (for context, it’s 100 degrees outside) and yelled at me about outside drinks not being allowed. I told her it was water and she went off about how it’s not a restaurant, and outside drinks are not allowed at bars in Texas. I am born and raised, and currently live in, Texas. I go to a lot of bars. I have never been yelled at for having a water bottle at a bar. Especially a “simple palapa bar” outdoors where it’s hot. What is this lady’s problem? We left without purchasing anything because she was so nasty without cause. I see we’re not the only review who had a bad experience with her either. Can somebody get this lady some therapy?
I like a small environment and atmosphere. They definitely over pack the area. They also couldn't make 4 different types of mixed drinks or cocktails, that are all very basic drinks for a bar.

RUDE - ZERO people skills. My husband, 2 sons and I purchased food at the window right outside of Woody’s and were told we could eat @ the tables at the Back Porch Bar. We were also told we could get drinks inside at Woody’s. Thinking all 3 businesses were affiliated, we purchased our drinks inside of Woody’s then proceeded with our pager from the food window to the tables at the BPB. We were immediately informed, VERY RUDELY, by the female bartender that we had to leave because no outside drinks were allowed. Maybe these 3 businesses need to explain to patrons they are NOT affiliated and not offer up the bar for seating. And also, maybe the BPB needs to hire people with much better people skills.
Really like The Back Porch. Cool breeze, friendly servers and great blues/rock bands. View to the Marina is great too.
What rude staff!! I can’t believe how unwelcomed me and my group felt. It was not busy while every other place was so I guess that makes sense now. Not a pleasant time!
Would have been perfect if it wasn't for the food shop. It closed for a while, and didn't announce when it was reopened. I would love to come back because the bartender was on point!! But please work on the food shop
Unique open air bar with a great hole in the wall food establishment. And seriously, billionaires and beach bums bellied up to each other at the tiki bar. 90' viking sprtfisher owners talking fishing with a deck hand off a party boat. Great vibe and stories to be heard, live music most nights. A must do when in the area.
