Waited for over a hour and a half. My husband went in when seen empty tables and we were the only ones left outside to be called. He got upset and was then escorted out with threats of calling the police. I said call them. We were laughed at and told this was an awesome place. But if this is how you want to treat senior citizens and patrons we will tell them to avoid your place no matter what 😡

My god this place has amazing margs and there is a damn good reason why I will willingly wait 2 hours if needed just to get a table!

The best Mexican food on the island!! Margaritas are awesome too!!

We hit La Playa on the first night of our vacation and it was the perfect way to start our trip. The fajitas were amazing, and our server Angie was provided the best service I think I've genuinely ever had! 10/10 experience and the portions were huge. We had a great time with a great value and we will be back for future trips to Port A!

The locals tell you to stop by the restaurant, and get your name on the list. So, a lot of visitors do so. When the door opens the listed people get a seat and the remainder stand in line. OMG!! What a hype business model. The service was poor at best. The food was cold, and super poor quality. I will never eat here again, and I would avoid the restaurant if I was you reading this review.

ALL of the staff is excellent! The hostess is the sweetest, very accommodating and genuine. The atmosphere is relaxing with a great cool
Vibe. There is usually a line to get in, but definitely worth the wait. The seafood enchiladas were delicious as well as the grouper special.

We had been told by a number of followers (follow us at Christian Family Farms Gainesville TX) that we needed to try La Playa Mexican Grill while in Port Aransas. We had the beef fajitas and they were super good. Beef was very tender and tasty.

It was super busy but I needed my ceviche! La Playa got me my to go order in less than 20 mins. Prices are reasonable but make sure you take cash as they dont take cards. They do have an ATM machine inside the restaurant.

The only reason we ended up trying this restaurant was because the place next door had too long of a wait. Walking in, it’s very small with no real waiting area, but we were seated fairly quickly.
We ordered the spinach enchiladas with chicken, and unfortunately, they were just okay. The chicken wasn’t shredded it was in large chunks and the overall flavor was pretty bland. There were also big, hard pieces of almonds inside the enchiladas, which didn’t pair well and threw off the texture.We also ordered tortillas, thinking you can’t really go wrong with those, but they tasted store-bought rather than fresh. Same with the guacamole it didn’t seem homemade.
It was especially disappointing considering this is a cash-only restaurant.
Overall, it wasn’t the best experience and probably not somewhere I’d go back to.
