Kim is an excellent waitress! Everyone here seemed like they made sure you felt welcome. The parking was hard.

It was a great night out... a little bit slow... it was a late night just prior to close!

If you're not there *before* they open, and write yourself on a list they hang outside, then you'll be waiting at least an hour. If you show up on time, but the horrendously rude hostess called your name a minute before (not exaggerating), they'll put you at the bottom of the list and not care. The patio is nice. Food was good but not "Sit outside for an hour" good.We come to Port A 10+ times a year and I can never figure out why people are willing to put up with the service.

Small restaurant, good service an great drinks. I had parilliadas and the chicken was great. Prices weren’t crazy considering it is Port A. I would go

The food was excellent. However, the place can get a bit busy around dinner time. You also need to have cash ready since this restaurant currently does not take credits cards. Otherwise, my experience of eating at La Playa has been fine.

Food and service were excellent! Servings were quite generous. Six people shared fajitas for four and took food home. Highly recommend!Parking: Several restaurants in the area and parking is somewhat limited.

Ever leave a restaurant and you feel robbed? Bad food!I had the island pepper, a strange take on Chili rellano. Plate came out soupy, mostly consisted queso from a jar and the cheapest canned refried beans, the shirt steak was fine, and the poblano chili was fine. As a dish it was a C + maybe. My daughter ordered the tres enchiladas.1 crab enchilada that tasted like old crab like fishy in a bad way. The crayfish enchilada was over seasoned and rubbery. The shrimp enchilada contained shrimp that had been in someone's bait bucket for a few days, then they sold it to this restaurant, and they decided to serve it up. My daughter is extremely shy about complaining about food in a restaurant, and I didn't taste any of it til she had eaten most of it. Had I eaten it earlier, I would not have allowed her to eat it. I'm worried she will get sick tonight. Both our entrées were recommend. From the food I was served tonight I have no idea why this place has such good reviews.Nacos were good. Lol.I would recommend getting whattaburger to go and eat on the beach. The only thing this place had going for was a good atmosphere, and sitting at the beach is way better.

The salsa and chips were very good. I had the Ceaser salad with grilled shrimp - it was excellent. We had the combo fajitas which we both really enjoyed. The one issue I did not appreciate is that they only accepted cash - most people prefer using a credit card. The owner should just raise prices by 3% to cover the card fees.

This was a very excellent restaurant. I have eaten Mexican food in so many very premium restaurants and this was just a wonderful experience. The service and food was so good. Stuffed jalapenos with pheasant , wrapped in bacon, was oh my. The fresh made at the table Guac , amazing. Grilled fish out of this world. Oh and the Margaritas were fantastic. One thought about their unique process to sign up for the restaurant. You have to go and sign up at 4pm for a time. We went at five and make sure your whole party is there. Then at 5 they opened the doors and the lead us to our table ready to go.

What's to say. If you've lived in the Corpus Christi area for any amount of time you already know this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. You want guacamole? They make it right at your table. It doesn't get any fresher than that!

This place was amazing! To start the service was top notch, our waiter (Michael) gave us the specials and made great drink recommendations. Once we ordered the food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were packed with flavor, loved the sauce. The ambience is quite nice as well. There was indoor and outdoor seating available. I highly recommend. We will be returning soon.

The food was amazing.A reservation is a must, limited seating with limited hours, but I highly recommend this restaurant.
