Holy Guacamole. This is wonderful food. Fajitas on delicious homemade tortillas -- You can taste the difference. Salsa is soooo good. Large servings. Bright and clean place, casual decor. We're so glad we ate here.

A true hidden gem in an unassuming restaurant. Words cannot describe how fantastic the breakfast burritos are here, easily the best we’ve ever had and our mouths are watering typing this out. From the sheer size of the breakfast burritos to the flavors, everything is fantastic and beyond what we ever could've hoped for stopping by here. The parking situation is not great as there’s not many spots around the side, but figure out how to get in here if you can. The staff is extremely friendly and the interior is clean. We ordered a sausage and cheese burrito; chorizo, egg, and cheese burrito; and a cheese quesadilla. Every single thing was out of this world. We could write again how great the breakfast burritos are, but we recommend you just go and try it. By far one of the best hidden gems we have found in the state of Texas. Make the trip, it’s worth it.

This was such a pleasure to dine here. The people were so nice and genuine. The food was amazing and definitely not from a box. Definitely try the mole enchiladas.

⭐ One star for the salsa, and that’s being generous.

Look, I try to support local spots, especially ones with a name like Mexiquito—sounds like a little flavor fiesta, right? Wrong. It was more like a flavor siesta… because we had plenty of time to nap during the wait.

We walked in, party of two. You’d think we were a table of twelve with how long it took to be served. I swear I saw a table sit down, age five years, and get a senior discount before anyone noticed we existed.

Now let’s talk coffee. My cup had been emptier than a politician's promise for thirty minutes. When the waitress finally popped over and asked if I needed more, I hit her with a quick “yes please!” like it was a coffee emergency (which it was). She nodded, disappeared into the land of broken dreams, and never came back.

But here’s the kicker: another waitress strutted around the restaurant like the Coffee Fairy, offering fresh refills to every. single. table. except ours. I watched her skip us like we were on the do-not-serve list. I even tried waving my cup like I was flagging down a rescue helicopter. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

And the cleanliness? Oh boy. Tables were being “cleaned” with a yellow towel that looked like it had been through three pandemics and a small kitchen fire. No disinfectant. Just a greasy little smear and a prayer.

So if you're into long waits, forgotten caffeine, and bacterial roulette—Mexiquito is your spot! Otherwise, maybe hit a gas station microwave burrito. It’s faster, hotter, and probably comes with more respect.

First thing that we find very attractive is the friendly service, small talk, laughing. As we proceed the next test is the coffee… 5⭐️☕️. Then we move on to the breakfast choice, Chilaquiles con wuevos, refried beans, hasbrowns. Ohh that salsa is spicy and very fresh. Eggs scrambled to perfection and the beans took me back to mamas 🏡. Delicious. We chose this place after seeing a TikTok video where they served enormous tacos, no kidding they did have that but the serving of Chilaquiles looked more appetizing, soon we will try the Giant Taco. Make this your next mom/pop restaurant pit stop on your way in/out of Port Isabel/Padre Island.

Tortillas chips, totillas, and tostadas were stale. Taco meat was dry and unseasoned. Beans tasted like they came from a can. Fajita meat was a cut of round steak that was overcooked and not cut. Tortillas were not brought for the fajitas. The enchiladas had little to no meat, made with a horrible tasting enchilada sauce. My server was quick and attentive. The waitress was the only good part of the experience.
