Visiting from Phoenix area & wanted to try some Texas BBQ, very friendly staff, cozy little restaurant. I had a dish with brisket, sausage, beans & rice & it was delicious. Would definitely go again. I was going to get some brisket or meals to go but unfortunately they were closed on Sunday & Monday.
The food was ok but I didn't see what all the hype was about. The staff was great though!

I went a few weeks back on a family trip to port Lavaca and were trying to decide on lunch before heading back home to San Antonio and while searching google we found pit devil bbq and decided to stop there. So glad we did! The food was so delicious and the portions were very generous! We came in with a large group and the staff took care of us so well and were patient with us lol the staff was so friendly and came to chat with us. They then took my nephews, niece, and son on a little “field trip” to go see where all the food is made out back and say hi to the pit master. I followed as well and it was so exciting for the kids (and me and well lol) definitely something they will remember! 10/10 experience ??

We stopped here on our way home from our family's vacation house and it was ?? ? the brisket was tender! (Even the lean plate) sausage was good, rice was fluffy and the beans were flavorful. Staff was nice and helpful. If you're from out of town and looking for delicious Bar-B-Q, you should definitely check this place out. 10/10

This was our first visit to Pit Devil and it was great. The barbecue was excellent and the cold slaw was good. We will definitely go back to the Pit Devil.

It was good, I got the Texas plate. The portions are great but the flavor was lacking. The Ribs were really good and by far the best thing on the plate. However the sides lacked flavor, and the brisket was dry. The beans were still hard, the rice was flavorless, and the Mac and cheese was very bland. Overall I felt underwhelmed and the price was huge for the quality.

As a fulltime RV'er I've spent part of several winters in Port L's area and I try to come to this great little place as often as I can . Good food and lots of it , friendly folks working there. It can get a bit crowded at lunch time .
DO NOT PASS THIS PLACE UP!Very good BBQ and sides at reasonable price.And they have finger ribs(beef)!!!I'm telling everybody about this gem.

Pit Devil ONLY serves beef ribs because “everyone else has pork ribs and we wanted to be different.”Texas Plate is a bargain with 3 meats, 3 sides! Brisket moist & flavorful; sausage from Hallettsville and really tasty; ribs were perfect. Beans nice ‘n salty, potato salad mustardy, cole slaw was okay.Friendly service, got to chat with pit master , just great all around experience…Not afraid of seasonings or being different, which makes Pit Devil a Helluva stop!
