My fiancé and two friends, all of whom are well above the legal drinking age, recently visited this establishment. Each of us presented a valid, Texas state–issued driver’s license as proof of age. Despite this, our server insisted that our identifications were “fake.” At first, we assumed the remark was made in jest, but it became evident he was entirely serious.
When we requested to speak with a manager, the server instead removed our licenses and presented them to the bartender. Upon returning them, we were denied service without any substantive explanation, despite the indisputable legitimacy of our documentation. The repeated statement, “We are trained to know fakes,” was offered without any supporting evidence or further inquiry.
The waiter in which this situation was handled gave the distinct impression that our age, rather than the validity of our identification, was the driving factor in the refusal of service. Such treatment raises serious concerns regarding potential age-based discrimination, an issue that carries both legal implications and the risk of reputational harm to the establishment.
I strongly urge management to implement rigorous and accurate ID verification training for staff to prevent wrongful denials of service to lawful patrons. Incidents like this do not simply result in dissatisfied customers; they risk creating the perception of unlawful bias, which can deter future clientele. Based on this experience, we left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and disappointed, and unfortunately cannot recommend this venue.

Shakertins is a good place to get a meal. The vibes are cool. The service was great. The food was good. I was asked how I wanted my burger cooked which was cool. The truffle fries were tasty. The house sauce was really good. The slaw as bland. The restaurant was clean. Nothing is going to blow you away except the truffle fries and the sauce. It's middle of the road...I would go there again, but not my first choice.

I’ve been coming here for awhile now. I have brought friends here, family, etc. Spent hundreds of dollars in this place. Today we were asked to leave because the manager said we haven’t been tipping which is a total lie. The waiters know us by name and know exactly what we order every time we come in. This was total embarrassing!! No proof just refusing us service!! I’m definitely not going to roll over and take this treatment. We have spent too much money in that establishment to be treated like we were today!!!!

We ordered the loaded chicken nachos to-go, expecting a delicious mix of chicken, cheese, veggies, and chips. What we received was literally just chips—no chicken, no cheese, no veggies. It was incredibly disappointing, especially since “loaded” was in the name. This felt more like a mix-up than a proper meal. Not fresh ---

We were the only people in the place and it took them over 20 minutes just to greet us and order our drinks. The food took an hour and the manager had no sense of urgency and did not apologize for the obviously long wait when he brought out our food. Food itself was alright, but not worth it

Also went up to the bar to order food during a dead time (literally nobody in here) and the bartender looked at me 2x and just walked the other way. Not impressed with this place.
