This location is located in the Red Oak Travel Center which is the mart attached to the Shell station. (The purchase via credit card will actually ring up as "Shell".) It is between the Wendy's and the Restrooms in the center of the building. We had never had a pie from The Original Fried Pie Shop and didn't know it was a chain until I saw the list of locations posted next to the counter. There are a number of pie flavors to choose from including Peach, Cherry, Apricot, Pineapple, Apple, Blackberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Coconut, Lemon, Pecan, Blueberry, Pumpkin, Strawberry, and Cream Cheese. They also have Sugar-Free versions of Cherry and Apple. Each fruit pie is $3.99 while cream pies (chocolate, vanilla, lemon, and coconut) or nut (pecan) pies are $4.49. Buying a dozen gets you a 12% discount. They also sell frozen pies at $1.50 each or $12 for a dozen. It looks like you can mix and match flavors. We decided to try a Strawberry Pie because the sign said it was available for a limited time. The pie was served warm in a paper sleeve (and placed in a paper sack lunch bag for me to take). It wasn't crispy or crunchy (I'm not sure if it should have been), but it tasted pretty good with a savory, salty crust and sweet gooey filling with chunks of strawberry that wasn't overly sweet and balanced fairly well with the crust. Unfortunately, the crust was a bit doughy and gummy at parts, but overall it was a pretty tasty treat. The pie was fairly large - probably equivalent to 2.5 McDonald’s apple pies. They don’t appear to sell burgers any more.Parking: Parking in front of Travel Center. Also 16 spots for Tesla Superchargers on the other side of the gas pumps.

Decent (and large) fried pies. In a gas station. Fried pies. Yeah. That's what they are.

Stopped in the use the restroom, and saw those fried pies, bought a chocolate fried pie and it was awesome, if you are going by there stop and get you one, they have an assortment.
Conveniently located and truck parking is decent. Just get there early if you intend on parking your 18-wheeler here. There aren't many spaces. Otherwise, clean gas station with a Wendy's.

This place makes a mean hamburger ? with fries sprinkled with seasoning. It was delish!! Hard to find decent homemade burgers. Everything nowadays is commercial and tastes the same. Nothing like a joint burger to satisfy your taste buds! Oh, and the fried cheese sticks are good too!!UPDATE ...They no longer make burgers, fries, tots, etc. since Wendy's opened up next to the.. They only sell the Pies now. I do recommend the pies. They are delish!!

Much better than my last experience. They have added. Wendy's. The bathroom was crowded, but pretty clean. More employees. And the pies are still yummy. I like coconut.
