The Takoyaki here is good and so is their specialty rolls, however they don’t note on the menu if a roll is raw or not and we ordered a spicy salmon roll thinking it was cooked and ended up not eating it.

Today was my first time at Akaya’s. It’s a walk-in and self seated restaurant. They had 2 big parties and somewhat busy, not a rush but steady. It took 20-15 mins to be acknowledged. Allison took very good care of us she let us breathe but delivered good service. The other girl doesn’t do good under pressure as she kept telling the big party besides us to give her a moment because it was really busy and it was only her. Train your staff to deliver good service and reward the good ones. Food was amazing the ramen and sushi combo for $13 is a steal. coming back for takeout :)

My friend and I went in during a weekday lunch. There were only a couple other guests aside from us, but service was still slow.

That being said, the sushi was pretty decent! There is a generous amount of fish and less rice, which is what I prefer. The cuts of fish are also generously sized for the nigiris. The seafood was pretty fresh and good for the price.

Overall, not my favorite sushi I've ever had, but I still enjoyed my meal.

We tried the Chicken Shoyu Ramen and Vegetable Gyoza which was pretty average.

Food is ok, but a good deal. Service is terrible. Slow to order and give checks, forgetting plates, etc.
Wouldn’t recommend, find another place if you can.

Tried to dine in. Was slow and only 2 other tables. 30m after ordering and still had not gotten my salad we asked for our food togo. We then were told we order food that was only for dine in. After spending $101 and sitting for 40m waiting on our food and having to take it togo, we will not be back. This business does not care about their guest.

I’ve tried two of their Ramens and they’ve both been delicious! Definitely a great place to grab food before night classes ?

Ramen was pretty bland and the eggs were overcooked in the ramen. The potsticker was also overcooked and looked old.

Service was not great, not very friendly and seemed to disappear for a while.

Not sure if the sushi is what keeps this place alive but I know it’s not the ramen.

The place is decorated nicely and has a relaxing ambience.

We went there in the morning. The rice was either under cooked or left over from yesterday. The texture is horrible. The grilled squid was burned. Gave the server feedback. All we got was "okay" and a mandatory 18% or 20% (can't remember exact) tip at check out. I understand mandatory tips for a big table. However, we have only 2 people. Will recommend staying out from this place.

I gave few months before this review. It might have been a 18% tip charge.

The ramen has always been on point for us. However, we decided to also order a volcano roll on this last trip. The lobster in the volcano roll had a weird texture and tasted a bit funny. We mentioned it to the server just as an FYI. If we hadn't had the roll on this past trip, the ramen alone would've made the review a solid 5.

GREAT food. Decent atmosphere. I will say that the portions are MUCH bigger than you see in the photos. So be careful letting your eyes get bigger than your stomach.

Locally owned, Asian owned business. The owner is the primary sushi chef. This guy has enough pride in his shop to be there all day and until close.

It's easy to support a business like this. Good food, great portions, and the owner puts tons of sweat equity into his store.

Used to order every other week. Portions keep getting smaller. Chicken Curry Katsu used to come with a huge portion of curry and veggies that were absolutely wonderful. I just got a salad dressing cup full of sauce with no veggies. I really hoped this place would pull through.
