Love this place! Great coffee, calm environment, and a relaxing place overall. My daughter has been working here, I've met her co-workers and everyone is so kind. They have their up to date policy, "Bad customers = Bad customer service" which my daughter has explained to me after reading previous reviews. My younger daughter had so much fun visiting her big sister as did I! Grateful she found a job that she loves so dearly as well as her boss. Always coming home wiser in the Gospel, and her relationship with God has flourished ever since she called I Love U A-Latte her second home. We all go through difficult seasons of life and it is a breath of fresh air to have a local cafe that lets everyone relax and do their own thing.

Awful, awful behavior by the barista. Not only did he completely ignore us (was he hard of hearing? or just having a really bad day?) for a while, but when he did respond, he was outright rude for no reason! We kept trying to be respectful, but he kind of scared us. The coffee was mediocre, and he made the atmosphere uncomfortable. No way will I return. Take your business to another place that is happy to have it!

Terrible service from a rude and unbalanced employee. This guy needs to go!

Truly abysmal service. As mentioned in other recent reviews, the guy working here is very unpleasant.

I want to first preface with saying that this has been my favorite coffee shop in the Dallas area since coming to college at UTD 4 years ago. Today, however, I had one of the most jarring and unexpected experiences at any public establishment in my whole life. My boyfriend and I walked in around 3:00 PM excited to get some coffee, especially since we hadn't been here in a few months. We walked up to the counter and waited patiently as the man behind the counter with dread locks finished up the order of two women who were in there before us. After about a minute, they received their coffee and the man proceeded to clean a few things behind the counter. He never made eye contact with us and seemed preoccupied. We weren't in a rush, so I was content waiting until he was in a good place to serve us. About ten minutes went by and another set of costumers had come in. This man had made no indications what-so-ever that he was waiting on us to order and had been facing away from us or in the back of the shop the whole time when suddenly, but rather quietly he stated something along the lines that there were customers in line and we needed to order or leave. He had a headset in one ear, so I figured he was on the phone. My boyfriend asked if he was talking to us and he said, "Have I given you any indication I'm not talking to you?" Please keep in mind this man had not made eye contact, was facing away from us, and even said this while turning and walking into the back of the shop. I reassured my boyfriend he was just on the phone with to-go orders. Once more he came back out, never looked at us, but again quietly stated, "It's been 10 minutes and if you don't leave by 3:15, I'm calling the cops." At this point I started to suspect he was talking to my boyfriend and I so I asked, "Sir, are you talking to us?" He continued to stand near the back of the shop without making eye contact. I don't remember exactly what I said, but I continued to say something along the lines of, "We're ready to order if it's a good time." Again, he never once came to the register or made eye contact. At this point my heart was racing and I wasn't sure what to do. My boyfriend told the man we were leaving and not going to give money to such an establishment. The customers behind us even got up and said, "Oh my gosh," in shock and left the building with us. This was slightly reassuring to me as I felt a third party observer was upset by the interaction too. I sincerely hope the man with dreadlocks was not the manager of this shop because the way he treated his customers was appalling. I think a few other people have commented on his bad vibes and strange interaction style. If this man is behind the counter when you go in, please be cautious! I'm not sure what would have happened if my boyfriend and I had waited in line 5 more minutes.

Super rude service at the counter. Seems, on Yelp, everyone who comes here has had the same experience. Hire someone with some people skills to work the counter.

I usually never write a review on Yelp, but I just probably experienced the worst customer service ever! I've worked for coffee in 15 states and I can confidently say that the man with braided hair is the worst costomer service! This place has a nice vibe and costumers seem nice!! In my professional opinion this place has amazing potential but it is absolutely ruined by that cashier!! Untill that guy is gone DONT COME HERE!

Wow! What a horrible experience. My friend and I wanted some coffee and we found I Love you a Latte online and decided to try to. I wish we would have tried somewhere else. We walked in and found it to have good coffee shop vibes. The guy making the coffee was busy setting up his phone and light for what I thought was for social media, he was struggling with the lights. He was not the nicest person, very short and seems to be annoyed with us being there. I ordered a latte asked for an extra shot he said we can only sell two at a time ok never mind. Then he gave me a second pull on the espresso shot (he let the first pour down the drain) and burnt the milk. The latte was awful!

We used to love coming here as it's a close walk for us. We loved our Saturday family tradition of visiting and being greeted by friendly faces. Over the last several months, every time we have gone has been a tough experience. The coffee has always been ok, but it's not enough to justify going out of our way for. Not only has it taken thirty minutes to order and get a drink, the drinks have consistently been wrong. I got a black americano that was made like a latte but I was over it and just left. The staff is rude and unapproachable. Finally, don't be fooled by the "I love U a latte" candles. They put a nice sticker on there to make it look like it's theirs, but check out the bottom and you'll see they're from the Dollar Tree (Greenbrier International)

I had often come here, and I had always been well treated. Not today. Today when I came I in, the barista was rude. I ordered a white mocha latte. He didn’t put any white mocha in my coffee, which I discovered when I tasted it. I told him he forgot the white mocha, and he said he didn’t. I told him it tastes like coffee and milk. He said he put it in. I stood there, and he asked if I had a question. I told him I wanted white chocolate in my mocha. He said that wasn’t a question. I told him I wanted my money back. He said I had drunk an ounce, so I owed him an ounce. He got the mocha back, and I stormed out. I won’t return. And I had given this horrid person a $2 tip. Do read his responses to the other 1-star reviews. It will tell you everything you need to know about how you’ll be treated. I look forward to the new owner going out of business.

The atmosphere is pleasant. There are couches and tables to choose from. There are plenty of outlets and plugs available. Yes, it's a coffee shop, but their food was absolutely delicious! The cook made our order fresh. There was a small wait, but it was absolutist worth it! We did order 2 full meals with 2 orders of waffles and 2 drinks. While we waited, we could smell the food being made.

First time here, guy behind the counter wasn't exactly friendly and super bad energy. Honestly, it was like we were a big inconvenience for him. We would ask a question and he wouldn't even answer. Ordered an Americano and Latte, both were okay but won't be back because lack of costumer service! Honestly it was pretty bad!

This was the worst place I have ever seen. The manager was a complete j**** The worst attitude and has no concept of customer service. Drinks are not great. Don't waist your time coming here. The cashier was a nice girl and was her first day. She needs to find a better place to work.

This place is so cozy and the menu is wonderful!I truly enjoy their coffee and drinks! However, every visit I've made, they always seem to run on one staff member which can make wait times a little long and that's not the staff member's fault, they're working as fast as they can.I tip appropriately, I just feel for the one person running the show. Come here to enjoy and visit and budget time appropriately.

I have come here a lot because I'm obsessed with their dirty lavender chai. The quality of their coffee is so good and they used to offer a student discount (they removed it without warning). Sadly, I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes while a worker sat on their computer, made eye-contact with me, and then went back to what he was doing without even asking if I was ready to order or if I had any questions about the menu. When I asked if I could order he rolled my eyes at me and asked me what I wanted as if I had made some absurd request. Again, I love the coffee, but the service is terrible.
