Google has this place listed as a Chinese restaurant. It is not. It’s an East African restaurant. I’m glad maps sent me here. I had never tried East African dishes before but I will definitely be back. The music in this restaurant is a little loud. It was hard to hear when trying to place my order. However the food was amazing!!! And the staff is very friendly.

Baptism party, music was played much too loud by manager where guests could not hear each other the entire night, I politely asked him to reduce noise 3 times even when all guests were gone except 10, he refused. My ears hurt in pain for hours after the event. How arrogant can this owner be to refuse 3 requests to lower the music. Please go somewhere else for your parties where you can listen to people talk and not have your ears hurt from excessively loud music.

Closed. An Eritrean/Ethiopian restaurant took over the location and kept the name! No idea if the Ethiopian food is any good. I just know it's not a Chinese restaurant anymore.

We'd been long-time fans of the Chinese restaurant, Imperial Cuisine, on Coit Road and went over for dinner about a week ago. Upon arrival my wife and I learned it was now an Ethiopian/Eritrean/Italian restaurant. Since we middle-aged white folk love Ethiopian cuisine we were happy to grab a table. We liked it so much we've just gone back with more of our family to try some other menu items. BTW, if you've read a previous reviewer's grumbling about not knowing the change in cuisine and "they should take care of that right away" in a previous diner's review, it's because Google will not allow a change to the original Chinese restaurant's web site until those owners confirm that they, in fact, no longer operate the restaurant. The new owners have asked that they do so, but no action has been taken as of yet. As far as the Ethiopian food goes, we've tried the Imperial Tibsi with Awaze, the Lamb Spris, the Beef Spris, and the Special Tibsi. All of them get a "chef's kiss". The flavor is outstanding, the injera is terrific, the variety is good, the (very small) service staff is super-friendly. The only reason I've knocked it down to four stars is that the service on both of our visits was a bit slow. Also, if you go here, go with the intent of eating the primary cuisine. You're not here for Italian food, chicken tenders, or fajitas. That's not what this place is about.
Having good time at this location. My first time here but it is also new. I love the environment, service was great, and food as well.We came on Saturday evening and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this new place. We had red and white tibs. The owner also provided us with some spicy chicken wings for our friend’s birthday.But I wasn’t happy about what had happened later in the evening that changed our good evening upside down.Sometimes this things happen when a business is new and I hope to see some changes in the future.

We walked into the restaurant & the waitress waited for 5 mins after we walked in to give us a menu. Oh btw it’s not a Chinese place anymore it’s a Ethiopian restaurant so they need to get that fixed right away! The waitress gave us our menu and my first complaint is the limited drinks! They don’t have any juices or anything. Just hot tea, water & sodas like no juices at all!!! Then when we ordered, i ordered a Imperial burger and they said they were out of steak so I chose the fish sandwich and my girlfriend ordered the spaghetti with tilapia. Then more of our friends showed up and they ordered the chicken bites but only one was written down by the waitress. After we ordered it took them a good hour to finish our food and then finally we got our food and it was just…….terrible!! All of our food tasted like it came from the microwave most of it was just very undercooked. The bread on my fish sandwich was super stale and hard and I just couldn’t believe it I didn’t even bother trying the salad. One of our friends that ordered the chicken bites (but got the chicken sandwich) didn’t even get the chicken sandwich…..they also got a fish sandwich so we had to wait another 25 minutes for them to remake the sandwich. The spaghetti that my girlfriend got tasted like actual booty cheeks. The sauce had no flavor and the noodles tasted like water like literally no flavor at all. The French fries that one of our friends had with the chicken bites tasted soggy and there was no seasoning on them either. The chicken bites tasted ok but they still weren’t the best at the end of the day like everything just tasted like it was microwaved or just not cooked enough! We will never come back ever again!

I really love the food here but I can't order anymore. Phone number doesn't work. Googled and there is a new phone number online which no one will answer and sends you to a website that is unavailable. It's a shame because their pork fried dumplings were amazing!
