Sometimes the food on the buffet is cold. I prefer the Plano Mumtaz, but this location is fine. I'll eat there again. Slightly

This is an awful restaurant: food and service wise. Went to pick up my own Uber eats order which I paid for . When I showed up the guy working behind the counter demanded I click “complete order” and for him to see me do it before handing me my food, as If I was some thief. So disrespectful and humiliating. Especially when the customer right in front of me was not made to do the same, and he was white. Indians profiling other people of color is definitely a new low point for sure. And the food was terrible. Tasteless and bland. Never gonna set food here again.

This place is delicious! Review is long overdue, my husband and I first tried their food about a year ago. I can say with absolute certainty that if/when we move out of the area, we'd 100% drive back just to eat lunch here.

I ordered Uber delivery from Mumtaz which I have ALWAYS gotten from the Plano location, but for some unknown reason it got ordered to the Richardson location... unfortunately the RICE was terrible - like they ran out of the Bazmati rice and filled it in with some cheap short grain rice and very little aroma/ flavor!!!! OMG, that is usually one of the absolute best things about Indian food is the RICE! And the other food was okay. It wasn't bad, but it just didn't have the same OOMF or LOVE put into the recipes like the Plano location. I was very disappointed. ? This is usually my comfort food & I was not comforted!

I recently dined at Mumtaz Indian Restaurant, and I must say, my experience was far from satisfactory. The overall quality of the food was mediocre at best. Notably, the papad was extremely oily, and the pakoda, which seemed to have been prepared well in advance, were served cold. The paneer makhani lacked flavor, with the paneer itself being surprisingly tough, a stark contrast to the tender, melt-in-your-mouth consistency one would expect. The garlic naan was another disappointment; it was hard, chewy, and the garlic flavor was almost non-existent, tasting as though it had been hastily reheated in a microwave.Service-wise, the situation didn't improve. The staff appeared to be untrained and lacked professionalism. They weren't cordial, often seemed confused when asked for anything, and struggled to understand basic requests. This contributed to a rather uncomfortable dining atmosphere.Furthermore, despite requesting our dishes to be medium spicy, they arrived tasting bland and unseasoned, lacking the rich flavors and aromas characteristic of authentic Indian cuisine. It was as if the kitchen had forgotten the spices altogether, leaving much to be desired in every dish we ordered. In summary, my visit to Mumtaz Indian Restaurant was disappointing. The food quality, service, and overall dining experience fell short of expectations, making it unlikely that I will return or recommend this establishment to others. There's a significant room for improvement in both culinary execution and customer service if they aim to truly honor the rich culinary heritage of India.

I went to the restaurant for a buffet, and I'd rate it below one star if possible. The food isn't Halal as claimed, and even if you're not concerned about that, the quality of food is modest, with a limited variety of buffet items.

I. An honestly say I was expecting more from the food . I was reading the comments and exited both me and my brother to order some food. We got the Goat biryani and the lamb gundalu. The meat it self tasted more like beef. We didn’t encounter any lamb flavor. We ordered it spicy and it barely had any spice. The lamb gundalu was nothing special again I could hardly taste any lamb it tasted more like beef . And the red sauce of the gundalu was pointless no seasoning wasn’t spicy at all .

A long-time favorite. The lunch buffet is excellent and the dinner service has good amenities and an appetizer.Vegetarian options: Very good support for vegetarian dining. The lunch buffet can be limited for vegetarian food.Parking: Parking is available most of the time there are few spots available during lunch especially when the area is busiest.
