I’ve come thrice in 4 years. Note: I’m too lazy to wrap fried fish in spring rolls but I do.m bc that’s status quo. Fish is Crispy and fresh so 5 star.

The fried chicken wings? Very good, 4.5 star. The sausage spring roll is good, 4 star.

The catfish was stale. Nice and crispy on the outside, bland on the inside, but parts of it were very stale and left a gross aftertaste that I couldn’t shake off for at least 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant. The soft shell crab and shrimp paste on sugarcane sticks were both good. (The server also asked for my restrictions - I said no peanuts, he suggested the catfish, which… ended up having peanuts)

Been coming here since I was literally 5 years old. Now I'm in college and it's still a highlight when I come home. So yummy so so so good

As a Level 5 Google Local Guide, I appreciate highlighting memorable dining spots and offering feedback that helps enhance guest experiences.

The food at Saigon Block was great, and I arrived with plenty of time before closing. That said, I received a few reminders about the restaurant shutting down while I was still dining, which made me feel a bit rushed. I understand the staff needs to wrap up, but a warmer, more relaxed closing experience would go a long way in leaving guests with a positive impression.

I hope this is taken as constructive and kind encouragement, because I genuinely believe great service should last until the final guest heads out.

Came there with a couple of friends and loved the atmosphere of family style and great setting. Customer service was great and informative of the dishes we had questions over. Would recommend coming here again.

We had grilled catfish, grilled pork chop plate and vegetarian option dish. The fish was good, but not as crispy as we had before, there was no green onion. My son has grilled pork chop with broken rice, however pork chop cut too thick and too tender.

We always make a reservations when we go here but they always seem to have not written it down or has forgot. Very unorganized. The baked catfish are hit or miss, sometimes it's fresh and sometimes you can tell that it's old. Servers could be more helpful and not as forgetful. We love the fish sauce here though. One of the few okay baked fish places so unfortunately we do come back.

This Vietnamese restaurant offers an impressive showcase of traditional flavors, with the baked catfish standing out as a true highlight. Served whole and butterflied down the middle, the catfish features crispy skin and pairs well with the scallion peanut topping. Accompanied by a spread of fresh herbs, pickled vegetables, rice paper, and fish sauce for dipping, it reflects accurate and vibrant flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.

Unfortunately service was disengaged and inattentive, with minimal interaction once orders were taken. Table cleanliness was inconsistent, with visibly dirty surfaces and sticky seating.

Ultimately, the food is outstanding and worth overlooking the service, which reflects a more traditional, no-frills dining experience. If you're comfortable with that, this restaurant is well worth a visit.

We only ordered a $72 fish dish and asked if this dish will able to feed two people and our server nodded yes. After we finished and asked for the check, the bill had an unexpected $22 charge. I asked why, and the cashier claimed we had also ordered a $22 beef dish. I explained that we did not. The reality is that we only ordered the fish dish but were brought an extra beef dish with it — clearly a deceptive upselling tactic. I chose not to argue further when told, “You ate it, you pay for it.” So, I paid and left. Unfortunately, they lost two customers due to their stubbornness and dishonesty.

My husband and I tried this place for lunch and it was absolutely delicious! By far the best Vietnamese food in DFW! We will be coming back for sure.
