Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Took my family to this location on Monday evening for dinner (food was good, service was fast; cashier was not very friendly). Got a sundae, 2 concretes, and a shake to go. My husband took 3 sips of his shake on the way home and immediately threw it out. He said it tasted like chemicals. Then his throat started burning and left side of his face went numb/tingly. It’s now Thursday evening and we’re at Methodist Sugar Land ER with worsening burning throat - very painful for him to swallow, lymph nodes are enlarged, and the right side of his tongue is swollen and sense of taste is affected. Side note: the tech that took him for XR said she had a very similar experience after ordering hotdogs here.
So! Now he’s got 3 Rx’s to start, had IV dexamethasone (steroid), and referral to GI for an EGD. Medical bills and more medical bills.
When I called Freddy’s, I spoke with Hector, Ass’t Manager, and asked if they have an MSDS for their cleaning solutions. I don’t know if it was cleaner in the shake machine or overspray from something or what. He said he would speak to his manager and told me to go to their website, click the Contact Us link, and put everything in there and someone will contact me. I got a generic apology email. No call back from management.
Anyway, keep your kids/family safe and stay away from Freddy’s Richmond location.

Food here is usually pretty good, love the fries, although the burgers can be a bit salty at times. The frozen custard is always on point though!

Service is usually quite good. Sometimes, it takes forever to make an order because no one is there. But most of the time, they're pretty quick and rather friendly.

The place feels dirty though. The bathroom feels wet and icky. The floor of the place also feels dirty. The tables don't feel especially clean either.

I try to come by whenever I’m in the area, and this place never miss! My babies and I enjoyed our time. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly. The prime rib burger is a must to try. Juicy and super flavorful!

This location is TERRIBLE!!! We are ALWAYS shorted something in our meal and don’t realize it until it gets back to the office. If you complain, they make it almost impossible to get a refund. Do not go to THIS Freddy’s.

We absolutely love Freddy’s! When I say “we,” I mean my whole family. It’s one of those places that never lets us down, no matter what kind of cravings we’re having. Even one of my boys, who isn’t a burger eater at all—he’s strictly a chicken sandwich kind of guy—calls Freddy’s his second favorite burger joint. That says a lot, because if Freddy’s can win him over, you know it’s something special.

On this visit, I decided to try the new Smoky Bacon Cheddar Stack Burger, and wow, it blew me away. It’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve had at Freddy’s. The combination of the smoky bacon, melted cheddar, and that soft, slightly sweet Hawaiian bread bun just hits different. It ties everything together so perfectly that I really hope they keep this burger as a permanent menu item.

Of course, I couldn’t pass up Freddy’s shoestring fries. They’re super crispy, perfectly thin, and with that addictive French fry seasoning sprinkled on top, they’re salty goodness at its finest. To finish things off, I treated myself to the Strawberry Dream Cake Sundae, and it was absolutely delicious—creamy custard, fruity sweetness, and cake pieces that make every spoonful a treat.

Between the smash-style steakburgers, fries, and amazing custard desserts, Freddy’s is always our spot. Friendly service, family-friendly vibes, and food that hits the spot every single time.

The single burger 🍔 😋 was delicious but the fries 🍟 😕 were cold. The person that took my order was professional and friendly. I will eat here again.

Have never been to Freddy’s and decided to give it a try. It was lunchtime and busy. The cashier was attentive. The only thing that concerned me was the area where the custard machine is . It looked messy. We ate outside and asked for the table to be cleaned. The manager was very kind and assisted us with wiping it down. The fountain station was very organized and easy to use. The food itself was delicious. I had the double bacon burger and fries. Delicious! It melts in your mouth and the bacon was crispy. The fires are shoestring which are the best. Try it with the fry sauce. . Will most definitely be back for another visit.

Went there for dinner, I saw a tall blonde female employee kissing another employee instead of doing their job. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shut it down!!

This is the worst hamburger place that I ever had. The food here is sooooooo salty. Especially the burger. Even when I ask them for no seasoning on fries they still put it on there. Also the customer service is poor. Ask the guy a question he just say look at the menu myself. Don’t go here!!

Their orange cream frosty(seasonal) to die for, took me back to my childhood.

This place has serious potential, management just needs to lock in. The tables and floors were dirty, they even had a pair of used gloves on the floor the whole time I was there (30 mins) customer service was trashy. Our cashier was extremely unprofessional and just unpleasant. Im going to be honest this place used to be better, but now its just low tier fast food.

Front counter employees don’t wear gloves when handling ice creams orders. Absolutely disgusting.
