Enjoyed great puffy tacos filled with grilled fish. Excellent service. Love the decor and atmosphere which compliments the historic nature of Rio Grande City. Classic photos of Pancho Villa, childhood picture of Mr Caro, colorful painting of El Gallo. Can’t wait to return for more good food.
Yes, we drove from Mission to Rio Grande City just to eat puffy tacos and tostados at Caro's because they are just that good and unique. While others ordered one of the plates with enchiladas or fajitas or tacos, I made a meal off a full order of mixed tostados. Just. So. Good.
The restaurant feels comfortable, food is good although the service needs work because it took a while before we were able to get a drink refilled and there were only 8 people in the restaurant occupying three separate tables. For two people our total was $52.88. I paid $54.77 for 4 meals at Chili's the other day...but either way we would return. The puffy tacos are good. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
