Mary has been serving Rio Hondo for 45 years! The best Mexican cafe food in the Valley. If you want local food and support local owners….You must eat Mary’s Cafe! Grab some of her tacos on the way to go fishing out of Arroyo City! Will keep you full all day on Laguna Madre!
Driving through Rio Hondo on the way home and stopped at Mary’s for lunch. We both had the Mexican plate everything was fresh and hot. The taco shell where on the puffy side giving them a nice crunchy texture.

We were wandering around Laguna Vista and Rio Honda in early June 2023, and found this gem of a restaurant. The gals serving the food were so nice and the food was delicious! Perfect portions for each of us! Thanks Mary!!!
